COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

7 Lovely hoppy aroma as it pours, fruity and crisp and exciting. Closer up, theres a pleasant chocolateyness too. Pucker!
5 Looks beatiful, tremendously dark red, almost black, and a huge persistent frothy tan head.
7+ Lovely well-balanced taste. Plenty of toasty roast, hints of cocoa, and a lovely wave of new world hops delicately pop above that to crown it nicely.
4+ Refreshing palate, pleasant carbonation. Finish has a touch of the cocoa again, and again, a lovely subtle spicy zesty hopiness.
15 Ill confess to having a quick peek at the ratings, and there was 3.6 after 3.6 after 3.6 - I was fully expecting a dull beer being robotically given good marks by homers or fanboys. Which was stupid really, considering who the brewer is. Anyone who only gave this 3.6 doesnt like good beer! All in 4.7% - this is so well made. I raise a glass to Christian, may I get to taste many more.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2012 Re-rate 2/29/12: Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariels place. Thanks Dror. Almost clear brown color with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, a bit of chocolate and some hops. Sweetish flavor, somewhat roasty, with mildly bitter and finish with faint citric notes. Medium-bodied. Decent, but most of the hops are gone unfortunately. 7/3/6/3/13=3.2

[10/4/11] Draught at lbaren in Copenhagen. Hoppy aroma of tropical fruits. Flavor has a bit of sweetness and a bitter fruity hops finish. Medium-bodied. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

On tap. Carlsens Kvarter in Odense. Near black ith a lasting tan head. Strong but elegant, juicy, Nelson Sauvin aroma, of white wine, apricot and tangerine. Hoppy flavour, with medium bitterness, and a faint hint of coffee and ash in the finish. As delicious and sessionable as the original Fat Cat.

from erzbierschof.ch - dark ruby-brown in colour and with a little dark beige foam left, nice lacework; aroma of black chocolate and walnuts; quite sweet and with a medium malt backbone, some tartness and a quite dry bitter and roasted chocolatey aftertaste - charming
