(bottle) Hazy, dark brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Fruity and slightly piney hoppy aroma with notes of exotic fruits and a present dark malty touch, including notes of mocha and liquorice. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dark malty start with a tinge of coffee and liquorice, taken over by fruity and slightly piney/resiny hops from the middle part; bitter-sweet and moderately dry finish with lingering hoppy notes. 06.IV.11 gyllenbock (10034) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 18, 2011

[Bottle at Schouskjelleren in Oslo, Norway]
500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, ABV is 4.7%. Very dark brown colour, big beige head. Nice aroma of fruity and grape-like Nelson Sauvin hops, some roasty notes too, hints of dark chocolate. Refreshing flavour, mostly due to the hops, but there are also distinct and dry roasty notes, hints of ashes in the finish. A decent enough beer, but I am still not convinced that the recently invented combination of fruity hops and dark roasty beer is the best idea ever.
