It’s transparent black with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma is hoppy with notes of spruce, straw and citrus. The flavour has a light sweetness and a light, dry bitterness, and it has the same hoppy notes as the aroma plus nice licorice. The finish is roasted. gunnar (9094) - Sandnes, NORWAY - MAR 17, 2011
Bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with a huge creamy tanned head.Aroma of roasted malts, hoppy with notes of grapefruit and pine. Taste is weak sugary dark malts, roasted, caramel and even some liquorice. Smooth and soft mouthfeel. Dry hoppy end, medium bitterness, quite good beer this one.

Bottle. Pours a clear and dark brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is malt, notes of caramel and hops with flowers, fruit, spices and grapefruit. The flavor follows the nose closely. The palate is bitterness. Overall a good beer. gyllenbock (9177) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 18, 2011
Black with a huge tan head. Aroma of fruit, hops and malt. The same in the taste, also some licorice and notes of roasted malt. Descent stuff.

Pours dark brown, nearly black in glass, huge tanned head. Smells of blackberries, citrus zests and roasted malts. Malty body, some sweetness, but on the lesser side. Distinct roasted malts with some coffee as well. Nice oily feel and quite dry on the palate. Nice bitter finish with berries and some malt bitterness as well. Fat Cat’s black cousin
Looks black in the basement. Very fruity and a bit roasted malt aroma. Sweet fruity, roasted and some hops in the flavour.laiti (8469) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUN 3, 2012

Very nice aroma with exotic fruits, hops, hints of roastiness and vanilla. Flavour is hoppy with resin, some fruits, roastiness and hints of ash. Very nice beer for this ABV.
0.5l bottle. Another one of the cats! This one purrs a licorice-murky brown body with a medium sized sidesticking light brown head. It smells quite a lot, and it smells pretty darn nice! Lot’s of black licorice, chocolate, roasted sweet goodies and a strong fresh hoppy thing that’s holding it all nicely together. It actually in some bizarre way reminds me of new-car smell! Flavors? Oh yeah.. Light sweet and roasted with both salty licorice, thin chocolate, cold coffee, dark caramel, bitter and cutting-through hops. The only thing reminding me that this is a 4.7percenter is the body that’s a bit on the light side, but hey, this is another fine and really impressive one from one amazing brewer. In my opinion the whole series should be mandatory in all Norwegian grocery stores. 29.06.2012 TaxiDriver (1775) - Stadland, GERMANY - JAN 30, 2011
Bottle. It smells fruity and malty, vanilla and grapefruit. The medium large pale beige creamy head has a normal duration, the body is nearly black. The taste is bitter, grapefruit, very malty, quite strong taste of coffee. The body is very dry, medium strong with a lively carbonation.
