Bottle from Beer Merchants, consumed at home 23.12.10 Pours black with a nice beige head. The flavour is initially plenty of chocolate there is hops but they are late to the party and whilst not offering a big hoppiness they are definately there and play there part well, some coffee also noted. This is the sort of beer that you can happily sip and barely notice it’s almost gone (which I did) very pleasant. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6 madmitch76 (26435) - , Essex, ENGLAND - DEC 27, 2010
14th December 2010. At the Euston Tap with Harrisoni. Bottle. Clear dark brown beer with a frothy off white head. Very piney nose. Very light airy palate. A light touch of dark malt with just a whisper of roastiness. Pney hops, mild. Finishes creamy and dry. Nicely joined up Black IPA. mile (4067) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 14, 2011
Bottle. Dark amber, average and mostly lasting head. Moderate malty and lightly sweetish aroma, fruity, lots of piney + Nelson Sauvin hoppyness, light caramel. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, lots of piney hoppyness, light roastiness. Finish is average, malty and dryish, lots of piney hoppyness witch gets little soapy and harsh. Nicely hopped 4,7% black IPA, really fine Nelson Sauvin in the aroma – although this lacks in the flavor (aroma and flavor not in balance). Interesting but not top-notch. It’s transparent black with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma is hoppy with notes of spruce, straw and citrus. The flavour has a light sweetness and a light, dry bitterness, and it has the same hoppy notes as the aroma plus nice licorice. The finish is roasted. gunnar (9923) - Sandnes, NORWAY - MAR 17, 2011
Bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with a huge creamy tanned head.Aroma of roasted malts, hoppy with notes of grapefruit and pine. Taste is weak sugary dark malts, roasted, caramel and even some liquorice. Smooth and soft mouthfeel. Dry hoppy end, medium bitterness, quite good beer this one.

Pours dark brown with a quickly fading small head.
Tropical fruit on the nose along with sweet caramel and roasty malt.
Very similar flavours, tropical hops and a small amount of roasty malt. Finishes with a bold hoppy bitterness.
Carbonation is suitably moderate... Defreni (3325) - Husum, DENMARK - MAR 26, 2011

Black with a huge tan head. Aroma of fruit, hops and malt. The same in the taste, also some licorice and notes of roasted malt. Descent stuff.
