A Mes rate. Bottle at Chris O’s Night of the Gaylords.harrisoni (19327) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2010
Murky amber brown with a thin off white head. Big cheesey malt and plenty of fruit. Some chocolate and coffee plus some pleasant resinous hoppage. Straight forward but nice enough. Had a lot better from Beer Here though.
Bottle at Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. I got this from a trade with The Wolf I think. Choc aroma. Really drinkable. Rather good in mouth, lovely and creamy swallow. Good. I love Christian, one of the world’s great brewers, but I hear he is not brewing anymore. I hope this is wrong as he has created some of the best beers I’ve had. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 11, 2010

Chriso Gaylord tasting. Amber colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts along with some notes of red berries, chocolate, coffee and some dark dry fruits. Flavour is bready and caramel malts along with some dark dry fruits, mild nuttyness as well as some berries.
Bottle. Brown body with a creamy longlasting off white head. Quite vinous light alcoholic aroma with notes of caramel, raisins, brown sugar and syrup. The flavour is caramel, vanilla, berries, jam, brown sugar, light chocolate, light roasted and raisins. Finish is light alcoholic warming. MPA (999) - Amager (form. Dark with beige head. Toasted malts in aroma along with wood, ripe fruit, berries and acid. It’s complex and vinous but too vague in the tart, acidic and unique characteristics. Very different in flavour: ripe fruit and toasted malts still present, but now there’s also a little cocoa and coffee. The tartness is gone along with the berries. Solid bottom and a powerfull body but lacks the promise of freshness, that the aroma delivers. Still a good beer that does however become seasonal.

500ml bottle bought at Ølbutikken in Copenhagen in mid-May this year and matured in my cellar for a few months. Fading, off-white head. Spotty lacework on the glass. Deep, ruby coloured body. Aroma of semi-sweet malts joined by dry hops. Quite nice blended of brown and black malts in flavour with notes of dark fruits breaking through. Discreet yeasty hints towards the ending. Medium bodied. Fine drinkability and just alright relaxing at home on a Friday evening (Tromsø, 16.10.2009). Miksu (5052) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - SEP 23, 2009
0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Slightly hazy reddish brown color. Sweet, tart, chocolatey and slightly sweaty aroma with raspberry and licorice. The flavors of toffee, licorice, chocolate, raspberry and strawberry. There is something I cannot get hold of. I’m not sure if I would like to have another bottle. Dark red-brown colored with little light brown head. Chocolate dominates with berries, hops come up also here. Medium bodied. Flavor also has berries dominating with thinner chocolate, aftertaste dries with berries still lasting. Rather one-dimensional, still ok brew. yngwie (17234) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 25, 2009
Bottle. A dark ruby, slightly hazy beer with a creamy beige head on top. Caramel, a little oxidized touch, resiny hops and alcohol on the nose. The flavor starts caramel sweet with some oxidation notes, then the resiny hops and alcohol fights its way through, and the beer finishes bitter and slightly warming. Full-bodied, warming and with an appropriate level of carbonation. All in all it’s a slightly boring and strange old ale, sort of missing something. Far from bad though. )
