Bottle. Pours a nice brown/ maroon red color with a big creamy beige head, that leaves some awsome lacing! Aroma is of caramel, chocolate, dark fruit and a slight vinous note. Flavor is of sweet malts, caramel chocolate and both dried and non-dried dark fruits. I also get a hint of berries, and also that vinous note. Body is full with a creamy mouthfeel. Overall a different Old Ale that is very good, especially as its one of the brewery’s first beers! mjs (7687) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 12, 2010
(Bottle, 0.5 l, courtesy of sayravai - thanks) Poured dark reddish brown and almost clear. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma contained malts, dark fruits, dried plum and alcohol. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flaours were malts, saltiness, liquoric, roastedness, fruitiness, hint of chocolate and medium bitterness. Aroma roasty and mildly bitter. sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 4, 2010
(Bottled, 0.5l) Deep, clear blood red with a small, lightly tanned head. Aroma of dried fruit, toffee-caramely malt, warming alcohol, and somewhat christmasy spices. Flavor is also dried-fruity, very caramely-malty, lightly spicy and salty flavor. Almost full, thickly-malty body with low carbonation. A quite nice and christmasy old ale to be sipped in July :). 6237 KimJohansen (10497) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - MAR 13, 2010
