MPA (979) - Amager (form. Nrrebro&Aalborg), DENMARK - APR 6, 2016
Bottle, sampled April 6, 2016. Dark brown/black with no head. Aroma of soy sauce, chocolate, alcohol, plum and burned malt. Flavour is moderately sweet with chocolate notes, a vinous touch of ripe plum and a long lasting roasted malt/coffee bitterness. Salty licorice stays on the lips. Flat and full bodied. I really enjoy this beer. Christian: please bring this one back.

It is a black Imperial Porter without either carbon dioxide or foam. Good vinous rich flavor with hint of coffee, cherries and other fruit. As a whole, it is heavily, vinous and with almost wine-like character.

250mL bottle, courtesy of fiulijn (thanks a lot, Alex), pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is dense, with burnt caramelized sugar, roasted malt, liqueur and tobacco. Flavour is complex as hell, with notes of tobacco, smoked malt, burnt caramelized sugar and liqueur. Quite robust, bordering on too harsh, but this is quite elegant nonetheless. Finishes burnt, lightly smoky and alcoholic without being too much.

Nip bottle shared by Doodler (thanks Scott!) poured a clear dark reddish brown with no head (flat). aromas of brown sugar, toffee, roasted malt and caramel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of smoke, licorice, molasses and bakers cocoa with a smooth dry lingering smokey finish.

Bottle at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2012. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, port, licorice, booze, spices and light ash. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of coffee, fennel (why?!) and chocolate. Full bodied with light to medium carbonation. The fennel just ruins the taste...

maneliquor (3495) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 20, 2012
Bottle thanks to Papsoe. This beer has intensity about it straight from the pour all the way to the finish. Pours oily black with no head. Nose is whisky, ash, dark chocolate, peppers and light vanilla. A little bit mish mash but it lets you know youre about to get a punch in the nuts. Taste has the same intensity but the flavours transition a little better than the nose. Loads of pepper and salted dark chocolate up front with peppers and spice through the middle. Finishes ashy with faint whisky. Solid beer. Thin mouth feel and a little too sweet for such a big beer. Perfect sized bottle, even to share
