COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

25 cl bottle @ Pikkulintu.
Rated on 20110729.
Pitch black colour with no head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, liquorice, soy-like salmiac and some coffee. Flavour of liquorice, salmiac and tacky syrup. Surprisingly easy to drink despite the high ABV.

250ml bottle (RBESGG2011, Grand Tasting) - "danish thimble" (6:4:5:3:11=2.9)
Black, but flat. Burnt aroma. Too much so. Sticky. Bitter bite, as much from burntness as anything else. Too burnt, astringent. Finish has at least some coffee to save it from being not worth drinking.
Rerate: 250ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Olutopas Pikkujoulu Aftermath)
7+ Super rich barley-wine aroma.
4 Basalt, no head.
7 Super salty taste. Heavy roast too, but salt dominates. Alcohol is only covered in the sense that the salty bite is the bigger one.
4 Salt on the palate too, sweetich and sticky as well. Finish full and not as overpowering as it is in the mouth. Rich on the burntness but not too astringent.
13 Unnecessarily strong, but just keeps itself sippable. Shame about all the salt - weird.

250 ml bottle @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu, Helsinki.
Pours a black colour without a head. Aroma of roasted malts, licorice and alcohol. Flavour of roasted malts, licorice, floral hops and even some chocolate. Quite burning mouthfeel with a roasty, licorice finish. Alcohol comes through a bit too much. Still good.

SirLimpsalot (4549) - SWEDEN - JUL 26, 2011
Mycket, mycket gott!
