Bottle, big thanks to Alexander for this one. Pours a pitch black color with a small, almost non-existing head, which soon becomes a small ring of foam around the glass edge. Aroma is really powerful and nice; riesen (dark chocolate toffee), nuts, coffee, spices and liquorice. What a wonderful aroma ... Flavour is as powerful as the aroma with much riesen, dark chocolate, nuts, spices, coffee and liquorice. Fullbodied, thick on the palate, very smooth, almost oily/creamy mouthfeel, no carbonation. Warming, but the alcohol is extremely well hidden for 16%. A fantastic beer, all categories, and it feels balanced for a super strong imperial stout/porter. I love it! It is a black Imperial Porter without either carbon dioxide or foam. Good vinous rich flavor with hint of coffee, cherries and other fruit. As a whole, it is heavily, vinous and with almost wine-like character. wavers1 (916) - Notown, California, USA - JAN 13, 2010
bottle courtesy of danish secret santa, thank you! 25cl, everything about this beer is viscous. the pour, the aroma, the taste, the mouthfeel, everything. the aroma is concentrated dates, prunes, raisins and figs, with lots of very nice more subtle sweet notes of vanilla, oak, caramel, coconut, and cocoa spiced with anise and clove, some smoke and a touch of funk. the taste is a similar melange of flavors, but there is a lot more bitter, smokey cocoa stepping up in a very nice way, especially in the finish. plenty of peaty, meatiness throughout. it starts more sweet, then finishes with a smokey, tart feel. very port like, this is a special beer. i have never seen a porter of this magnitude. gyllenbock (10035) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 20, 2011
Bottle at Pikkulintu in Helsinki, July 2011.
Black with no head. Strong aroma and taste of chocolate, ash, roasted malt, licorice, dark fruits and something that I really cant put my finger on. I liked this beer, very good. Perfect to share a bottle with some friends.

Mycket, mycket gott!

Bottle, sampled April 6, 2016. Dark brown/black with no head. Aroma of soy sauce, chocolate, alcohol, plum and burned malt. Flavour is moderately sweet with chocolate notes, a vinous touch of ripe plum and a long lasting roasted malt/coffee bitterness. Salty licorice stays on the lips. Flat and full bodied. I really enjoy this beer. Christian: please bring this one back. jesperhammer (5017) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2009
Bottle at Ølfestivalen.
Black and wild.
Mild stout, creamy.
Bitter, asphalt, delicious, full.
This is the last beer at Ølfestivalen, and an appropriate way to end. The next day I find my glass, and put my nose in it, and the loveliest chocolate, charamel smell comes up:-) Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - DEC 11, 2009
Black with no head. An aroma with liqurice, spice, sweets and weak prunes. A flavor of sweets, liqurice, spice and a weak hint of bitternes. Nice oily flavor. Christian (13932) - Odense, DENMARK - JAN 22, 2010
Black with a tiny brown head. Intense licorice and molasses aroma with dark caramel, brown sugar and a hint of meaty smoke. Very rich and intense burnt caramel flavour. Sweet but nowhere near cloying. Touch of peppermint. Very warming, but not at all hot alcohol. Very different from other super-strong black beers. A masterpiece to be proud of! 0.25l bottle @ The Bishops Arms (Vasagatan), Stockholm. Pours a dark as the night body with a thin and quickly fading and light bubbly off-white head. The aroma is dark dark dark with chocolate, burned roasted malts, coffee, dark licorice and sugar. Soft carbonation in a oily as hell and light sticky mouthfeel. Fantastic roasted, sweet, boozy and black flavors. There is dark Belgian chocolate with lots and lots of roasted goodness in here. Warming as hell in the finish. Greatness x 2. It’s just such a great sipper and a fantastically flavorful beer. Love it.
