[Did sleep all night in a sleepingbag at the front of the door to Carlsens and got therefore, for free, a small morningsample inside this great place.] Have with great expectations been waiting for this brew since the DØE-festival two months ago and it indeed fullfilled all my dreams. A hazy amber coloured brew with offwhite head with the aroma of heavy hops, berries, pine, citrus and also peaches. Flavor is similar added with rye, caramelmalts, heavy hopbitterness and freshness. Thisone is maybe not the new Ølfabrikken Rug IPA, but it’s an close offer and indeed this is my very first 5.0, but if I should give it to one, this is the one, although I’m for sure will receive some bøllebank!

500ml bottle. Heavy in the glass with a hazy copper almost red colour and a sticky head of light brown foam. Full piney hop aromas fill the nose. The flavour bursts into the mouth and fills every part. This is one fine beer. thp1967 (3) - Roskilde, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2010 does not count

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2010 Draft at Carlsens Kvarter. Hazy orange-red with a low but strong head. Very potent hoppy aroma: citric and pine-like. And then ... well the flavours just hit me so hard that goose bumps began crawling up my arm, so I found myself sitting with a smile as if bliss had entered me through my mouth. Hopfix is both aggresively hoppy and yet sweet like caramel. It has a metallic feeling that isn’t in any way unpleasant and a nice oily palate. A master piece! Bottle. Hop o‘ the mornin’ to ya!!! Aroma is candy-like hops in the vicinity of the glass (reminds me of an ice pop I had when I was a kid); citrus and pine hops in the glass with notes of berries lurking in the background. This is the best damn hop aroma I’ve ever encountered; not just a lot of hops slammed in yer face (although there is a lot of hops slammed in yer face), but nicely balanced between the candy-like hops, the citrus and the pine. The pour is a slightly hazy, deep golden amber with an off-white head. Good lacing. Flavour is sweetish with bitter pine hops. Not as balanced as the aroma; more smack in the face-like, but still pretty nice. Lingering massive bitterness in the finish; a bit liquorice-like. Faint fruity notes. Remote notes of apple appear as it warms. Hopfix indeed – I’m hooked!!! 20-07-09. thewolf (12597) - Kolding, DENMARK - AUG 29, 2009

Pours hazy orange-copper with a small, creamy, yellow-beige head. Fine duration. Aroma is world-class. Hops, apricot, apples, pine, mango, caramel, some rye and strawberries. Prickly lively carbonation, impressively dry and creamy feel despite that. Flavour is equally great. Fine sweetness, rather fat maltiness. Then the pine hits me, adding apricot, citrus, oranges, caramel, grass. Truly immensely hoppy yet impressively balanced. More? Yes, please!
Bottle from the most recent batch, this is as fresh as it can get. Pours a nice amber/orange color, with a nice frothy white head that generates some awsome lacing. Aroma is very hoppy, with tons of tropical fruits like mango and passion fruit. There is also some caramel and sweet malts, grapefruit, pine and a slight amount of bubblegum. Flavour is very hoppy and quite juciy, with loads of grapefruit. The tropical fuits are there aswell, especially the mango. There is also some pine, and a nice solid malty backbone that is sweet and caramely. Body is medium to full and quite dry in the mouth. Overall a fantastic IPA, and probably one of my favorites. Btw you really get addicted to this one! Shambles (35) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 30, 2010
This beer is awesome. Great biege head, and incredible lacing, straw golden body, smells like pine needles, stone fruits and subtle toffee, outrageous balance of hops and malt on the nose. As the aroma suggests this beer powers up on the pallate, it’s not overly complex but really solid. Powerhouse bitterness and love you long time length. I wonder how the boys at brewdog feel about this being brewed at their brewery, did they just get schooled ?
