COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

500 ml bottle from Systembolaget.Clear, brown liquid with medium to big tan head. Aroma is quite fruity, hoppy and a bit roasted with notes of grapefruit, tropical fruit, soapy hops, roasted malt, coffee, citrus and mango. Good balance. Taste is hoppy and a bit chocolatey and roasted with heavy bitterness (for the style) and light sweetness. Medium bodied with OK carbonation and lingering, bitter finish. Maybe a bit too high bitterness for the style. Some alcohol is noticed as well, but it isnt that disturbing. The balance is a bit off because of the bitterness. Still good though, the freshness of the Citra hops helps freshen up a quite robust brown ale.

Bottled. Clear brown, smal lfirm head. Aroma of coffee and pear-like hops. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Lots of pears and resin. Inky mega-bitter finish. Seriously over hopped.

Bottle, 50 cl: Very brown, nearly opaque, beer with a frothy beige head. Roasty and fruity aroma with loads of caramel, grapefruits and tropical fruits. Taste is medium sweet and heavy bitter with lots of fruity notes: Tangerine, pinapple, mango and grapefruit. Medium body, thick oily texture, average carbonation and a long, dry and bitter hoppy finish. Brown ales can be a drag - but this one is beautiful and fresh!

Blumig hopfiger Antrunk, frisch, voll. Gut! 11/11/12/12/12/12

Draft at Makke. Interesting combination of chocolate and bitterness, a fairly decent addition to the style.

500 ml bottle. BBE 08.02.2013.
Pours a dark brown colour with a foamy white head. Aroma of dark chocolate and Citra hops, quite interesting actually. Flavour of smooth caramel malts, dark chocolate, bread and Citra hops. Exceptionally smooth mouthfeel with a lovely chocolate-like, crispy bitter finish. Im not a big fan of Citra but this was really good.

500ml bottle from Bierkompass, shared

BBE 08.02.2013 - Pours dark reddish brown with a medium foamy head. Aroma has notes of chocolate, coffee and citrus from citra hops. Taste is very chocolatey with notes of coffee and nice citrusy fruitness from citra hops. Bitter, long lasting caramely finish. Nice surprise, didnt expect this one to taste this good.

Bottle 50 cl, Skjold Burne, rhus. Pours deep ruby mahogany with a huge creamy tanned head leaving lots of lace. Aroma is slightly roasted, caramel, citric, cat bin, coffee and fruity. Flavor is much like the aroma, nicely acidy and with an excellent bitterness. Finishes fruity and very malty, some chocolate and longlived bitter aftertaste. Well balance I think, damn good to drink.
