From tap at Ølbaren. Pours dark brown and towards black with a creamy, dense and tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, yeasty fruity and breadish. Phenolic, liqourice, roasted and dark malty. Fruity and phenolic. Mild yeasty spiced. Sharp phenolic on the back of the tongue. Defreni (3222) - Husum, DENMARK - JUL 30, 2010
Fad: Brun uklar øl med et tæt skumhoved. Duft af tørrede frugt og blomster fra duft. Mundfylden er udmærket med let karbonation. Lidt ung i sit udtryk, men meget drikbar. Alkoholen er fuldstændig skjult, gæren er ikke så dominerende. Fin øl men mangler en lille smule for at være helt oppe at ringe. Plovmand (8312) - Helsinge, DENMARK - SEP 10, 2010
Bottle. It pours an opaque dark brown with a creamy light tan head. The aroma is loads of sweet caramel, sweet ripe fruit, dates, raisins, light alcohol and dark fruit. The flavour is dark sweet ripe fruit and loads of caramel. Some alcohol in the finish. Nice but heavy stuff. Maria (10212) - Thisted, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2010
It’s black with a light red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of dark fruit, hops, yeast, preserved fruits and caramel. The flavour is sweet and vinous with notes of dark fruits, prunes, raisin, plum, caramel and the finish is slightly dry. It’s a nice and complex beer. Draught at Lord Nelson, courtesy of and shared with Papsoe (thanks!), Blackish colour, tanish head... the light here really isn’t brilliant for rating appearance. Sweet malty fruity nose, figs, sticky but in a good way, some grain, maybe weak honey. Nice balanced sweet malty taste, rosehip jam notes, the alcohol isn’t there much in the taste but this is certainly warming. Not the type of beer I’d immediately call my favorite, but it really is a sublime thing that grows on you.

Bottle, bought @ Kihoskh, Cph.oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - NOV 27, 2010
Pour is deep red-brown with a fizzy, off-white head that soon disappears. Aroma is lovely complex. Lots of raisins, plums, mild tobacco, dark chocolate, sweet Belgian sugars. Low carbonation, great creamy and light oily mouthfeel. Flavour is vinous, slightly harsh, good fruitiness, lots of plums, caramel, light dark chocolate. Fine bitterness at the end. This is a very good example of a Quad, but there is a slight harshness that detracts if compared to the ’real’ Belgians.

Hunters, Pori. Quite much black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is toffee, raisins, liquorice, some ashes, alcohol and quite strong stuff. Flavour is toffee, sweet malts, some roasted and toasted notes mild grass, some caramel and nice. Pleasant, even though will probably win on aging it a bit.
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a gluggy black with a small tan head. Loads of chocolate and belgian yeast on the nose. Heaps of chocolate cocoa and fudge like characteristics in this one. Has a very liquorice like finish. Good beer Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - MAY 24, 2011

Bottle I bought at De Molen, shared with DutchDrebus. Brown color, ok smell and good taste. Also good carbo and medium to full body, alcohol not strongly present even though the beer is 10%ABV.
