COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: In the Trappist monasteries an extra strong and good ale was brewed during the lent to keep the hunger at bar. The sweet drops on an empty stomach, combined with the much idle time occasionally led to less steadfast members of the order giving in to more earthly excesses. They went under the name "Malus Pater" - the bad father. With this ale inspired by the trappists you can now even do the same. And remember: God sees everything, but he doesn’t tell!

Pinball (12145) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 15, 2010
tap at ølbaren sometime june 2010 pitch dark, smooth lacing light brown head. faint aroma of licorice, dry hops, faint roasted stuff. flavor is licorice - sweet, roasted stuff. after a while in the glass the beer flavor improved, and got some boozy and aged beer characters that were quite nice.

Bottle shared with friends at Klooster. Always happy with Beer Here beers and this quad did not disappoint. Great flavours and a label that’s guarenteed to get some laughs.

Bottle. Pours jet black with a foamy tan head that quickly shrinks to a surface ring. Sweet, fruity aroma has caramel, vanilla, sultanas, cherry, dates, golden syrup and chocolate notes. Flavour is still quite sweet, reminiscent of cane sugar, but less complex than the aroma, with less fruit and more straightforward malt characteristics. Mouthfeel is thick and oily, almost syrupy, with soft carbonation and a moderate sweet, slightly boozy finish. Overall this fell slightly short of expectations and was lacking in complexity, but is still a pleasant brew and a particularly good nightcap.

Bottle..Dark red color with a small brown cream head. Aroma has sweet malt, sugar, alcohol, caramel, candy, dark fruits, deep rum-like notes as well. Quite spicy yet very sweet. Taste is quite strong, lots of alcohol and a large malt base. Lots of flowery dark fruits, candy, sugar and caramel.

Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011 from a 0.5l bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a thin fading beige head. Sweet aroma with some licorice, dried fruits, some chocolate and it’s quite hopy. Lively carbonated, has an fizzing mouthfeeling and medium-bodied. Light sweet flavors, some brown sugar and more dried fruits. Ends with a mild alcohol finish and a pepperish aftertaste.

Dubiously satirical bottle. Pretty much black with a light tan head that lasts. Quite surprising. Aroma of soy sauce, treacle, raisins, figs, prunes. Syrupy mouthfeel with low carbonation. Sweet, bitter and salty, with dried fruits, singed toffee, spices, quite a lot of bitterness. Soy sauce less prominent than the first whiff suggested. Obviously strong, but not much heat from the alcohol - just a little with some sweet shop spices at the end. Not much like strong dark Belgian beers and kind of crude, but compelling.

Bottle - Dark sugars and dark fruit. Dark brown, almost opaque with no head. Dark fruits and some slight bitterness. A bit medicinal and boozey but still pretty decent.
