Bottle courtesy of hopscotch. Brown pour with a small off white head. Smokey aromas. The body is thin and a little watery. The taste is dominated by smokey malt flavors with undercurrents of brewer’s licorice and tar... Christian (13823) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 15, 2011

Rich smoky toasty roast - a great aroma. Beautifully dark and with a nice tight head. Roasted taste is bang on perfect for a porter. Palate soft, smooth and full. Smokiness and roastiness complement each other well in the mouth too. Super drinkable porter. So rich, no negatives at all.
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2011.
Nice smokey aroma with caramel. Pretty lace on this dark stuff. Flavor is medium smoke, sweet, wood, some light fruit. Very tasty with a nice tangy edge. Works well.

Chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011 "Donkey Dork Lord Edition". Amber colour, small head. Aroma is leathery, fruity, wooden and mildly yeasty. Flavour is roasted malts, some toffee, roast and mild leathery and yeasty notes.
Bottle @ Søgaards Bryghus. Dark brown, almost black body with a nice, creamy beige head. Delicate smoke aroma with roasted malt. Flavor of dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel and hint of smoked sausages. Quite strong smoke flavor, still smooth and balanced, relatively sweet but in balance with the bitterness. Fine body and long smoked finish. A really nice smoked porter. Leighton (22327) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2011
Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Pours a slightly cloudy brown with an off-white head. Big roast and smoke aroma, some peat. Great flavor, smokey with hints of bacon and brown sugar. Big roastiness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, plenty of lingering smoke. Excellent. planky84 (3431) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2011
Bottle at Chris O’s pre GBBF shindig, 2011. Whoooaaaaa, Smokestack Porter...whoo..ooo! etc, etc. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Coffee, chocolate and raisin pour. Heavy coffee flavour with a bit of smoke. Smoky-dry finish. Scopey (15753) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 31, 2011
Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours red-brown, with a thin foamy white lace and moderate carbonation. The nose is smoky bacon, chocolate malt and HP sauce. The taste is smoked malt, caramel, charcoal, toffee, toasted brown bread, smoky bacon, chocolate and dark cherry, with a light smoky-bitter finish. It is not intensely smoky, which is actually a good thing. A very tasty, yet delicate smoked porter. larsga (7657) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2011
Medium tan head. Deep dark red barely translucent body. Deep smoky milky chocolate pudding aroma is very harmonic. Dry-sweet roasty resiny milky chocolate pudding taste, again very harmonic. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry smoky resiny burnt aftertaste with chocolate and earth notes. Lovely! Highly drinkable and full of subtle flavours. (0.5l bottle, Skjold Burne, Århus.)
