Tap @ Fairbar. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, wet grass, light smoke. Taste is malt, wheat, light smoke, grass, over ripe fruit. Thin body, soft carbonation. More strange than good. 100711 mile (3945) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 8, 2011
Bottle. Golden, cloudy, small and fully diminishing head. Moderate malty – lightly wheaty and sweetish aroma, caramel, light smokiness and bacon. Body is light to medium, malty – lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish flavor, some caramel, light smokiness and bacon. Finish is short to average, malty – lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish, faint smokiness and bacon. Quite light-bodied and lightly smoky and wheaty “rauchbier” – that’s it. Bottle. Haze amber. Very small no carbonation. Smoke caramel notes. Very long smokey round dryness. Need more carbonation and citrusaroma. JorisPPattyn (9981) - Ursel, BELGIUM - JUN 30, 2011
Small amberish head over metallic-copper beer, well carbonated. Smoked, phenolic and seeweed or algae; salty/brackish smelling. Smoked, but toasted too, hint at chocolate and always returning to... toasted cornflakes or something similar. Smokiness is relatively mild, wheat is totally in check, not souring out like some German Rauchweizens. Very well-carbonated, spritzy, much more refreshing than most smoked beers. I rather like this. It is totally original, setting one on the wrong foot at every turn - but finally it’s pleasing. At least to me. BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUN 23, 2011
50cl, new Danish brew Anno 2011, from De Hopduvel Gent, not complex smoked brew, malty and spicy, not balanced, clear, small head, nothing special, yet expensive, but original brew! gunnfryd (14869) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 16, 2011
