On tap at the brewery. Pours a next dark brown, with a half inch or so of slightly off white head. The nose is a touch of brown sugar, spicy hops and a trace of chocolate. Taste is biscuity, toasty, chocolate and a decent dollop of hop bitterness. Medium to full bodied and decent drinking.

Tap at violet crown. Pours brown. Taste is a nutty caramel. Slightly earthy, some caramel. Kinda tasty.

Keg @ Beer Hound. Deep brown with a small head. Nose is chocolate chip cookies. Roasted nut. Cocoa. Some ash. Dry on the palate. Very dry. Dark chocolate. Simple but tasty enough.

Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a clear dark brown color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of doughy malts, nuts, brown sugar and a hoppy finish. The taste is big earthy hops, anise, molasses and a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Quite hoppy with a lingering bitterness. Solid beer.
