Bottle from EuroSwap 2/16 by rosenbergh, many thanks! Pours a brownish-amber color with a big creamy eggshell head. Aroma is piney, toffee, caramel malt, peach, grapefruit, some walnuts. Taste is peach, physalis, starfruit, walnut, and a nice caramely and toffee-like malt base. A little bit boozy in the finish, with a walnutty/fennel/medicinal bitterness (not a 4 in palate because I don’t really like walnuts and fennel). Some spiciness comes along with the beer as well. Soft oily mouthfeel, a bit chewy even. Low carbonation. A very interesting combination! Would have expected this to be way more standard.

Pours hazy dark orange colour, small head. Hoppy smell. Aroma is very hoppy with light malts. Lots of floral hops with notes of grapefruit, pine and citrus, maybe a hint of pepper too. Medium body, sticky mouthfeel. Bitter, long aftertaste.

500ml Bottle - Amber/light copper with a slight haze and a small head. Pine, toffee, grapefruit, peach and dried apricot in the aroma. Hoppy, nutty, fruity and slightly earthy taste with perfumed peach, grapefruit, pine and walnuts. The aftertaste is pleasantly floral.

courtesy of Joni Orponen - very hazy red-orange beer; fruity hoppy aroma of litchis and tangerines; velvety palate; medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, decently bitter and very aromatic fruity finish (peaches and litchis again)

Samea, punaisenruskea väri. Vahva pienehkö vaahto. Tuoksussa sitrusta, korianteria, raikkautta. Mausta jää päällimmäisenä mieleen karvaus.

Hopmaestro (1823) - Örebro, SWEDEN - APR 21, 2016
Aroma is ripe, fallen fruits with a slight sugary sweetness. Slight sting from pine oil. Taste brings a rather deep sweet and heavy resinous malt base, that is slowly raised by the hops. Oranges and orange peels comes forward in the taste. Hop spicy and razor sharp bitterness in the aftertaste. A pretty chewy and heavy IPA this one.

Pours murky brown with a frothy tan head. Fruity aroma with mango and citrus, some sweet caramel notes and pine on top of it. Strong and bitter IPA taste but not as sharp as usual. Lingering bitter aftertaste as well. Smooth mouthfeel, soft and mild carbonation. Great IPA with a lots of hops and very flavourful overall.

0.5L bottle. Hazy dark orange with medium white head. Citrus and pine in aroma. Taste is bitter with sweet malt. Medium body and carbonation with strong bitterness. Long smooth bitter finish with toffee? Very well balanced ipa. I think that this is the best finnish ipa.
