jookos (6836) - FINLAND - MAY 15, 2014
[email protected] Dark brown hazy. Cola, roastedness, juniper twigs and sweet malts. Strangely dry body, sort of roasty rubbery finish (almost schwarz- like). Herby, twigsy, bit messy body. Some penicillin, grains. Has a lot more structure than your typical sahti, more ale-like. Dunno if that’s good or bad.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2014
Plastic cask @ Kahdet Kasvot. Rated on 22.05.2010
Aroma is somewhat sweet with banana esthers, berries and licorice. Surprisingly the flavour is not sweet as sahtis usually are. It has anise, licorice, some strawberries and yeasty notes. Clean, solid and good sahti. Actually one of the best I’ve had, but glasses of Hollola and Pihamaa I’ve had in this very same place were even better.

On tap at Urho’s Pub, Helsinki. Poured hazy dark orange in colour with no head. Burnt wood and smoke in aroma with some light fruitiness as well. Flavour a bit smokey with some yeasty notes. Quite heavy mouthfeel. Strong burnt wood in the beginning, ending was more pleasant.
