2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
30th July 2011>br>ChrisOs ’Donkey Dork Lord’ Pre-GBBF Tasting. Cloudy gold beer, good off white head Light crisp palate. Light minerally hop - best described as very mild Sorachi Ace rather than Mt Hood. Dry finish. A single hop showcase just doesn’t work in a light beer like this IMHO.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled 330ml (K-Kamppi, BB 08/2011)
Deep amber color, small white head, some lace. Quite weak aroma is sweetish fruity, slightly citrusy and a bit grainy. Light to medium bodied. Front is quite watery, then has some hoppy bitterness, but especially malty flavors. Light lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Hops are much less dominating in this one than in Amarillo or Simcoe version (which I had on draught).

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap (Helsinki Beer Festival, 2011)
6 Pipe tobacco. Sweetish, some walnut.
3 Orange - clear apart from the fact mine had a flake of hop in it!
6+ Tobacco in the taste too. Resiny, some chalkiness and minerals. Sherbetty sweets too.
3 Soft palate, OK carbonation. Finish doughy, plus the sherbet again. Definite herb component too - maybe it’s sage?
13 Solid IPA, great for 3.6%
