Black, small tight keggy tan head. Ew, sweet treacly aroma, that’s just gone jammy and is turning sour. Smooth sweet body, not quite slick, but close. Nice roast, coffee hints, gets better as it warms as the nice sweet esters fill out and make it more interesting in the mouth. Would have liked to have this fresher, as it does taste a bit tired. But it’s not bad, even as it struggles to survive.

Black, tan thin head. Roasty, slight syrupy malty nose. Full bodied, a hint of astringency, cocoa beans- like. Roasted coffee, some milky chocolate. I’m not a big fan of the style, but this is pretty nice. Full, flavourful.
(Keg at St. Urho’s Pub, 20130907) The beer poured almost black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown and it disappeared quickly. Aroma had molasses, sweetness and coffee. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, sweetness, molasses, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. This was like a blend of a dunkel and a porter. Not so good. VastActiv (7390) - Oulu/Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 6, 2013

Draught @ St. Urho’s Pub
Quite bright head for a porter. Aroma is sourish with toasted notes and some lactic acid - feels quite like Mufloni Balttiportteri. Flavour is rather tart and somewhat sour with lactic acid, roasted notes, berries, hints of cocoa and dark chocolate. Creamy but thin palate. I wonder if the sourness is intended here?
