Bomber generously thanks to ditmier. Pours a dark black color with a medium light brown head. The aroma is heavy piny hops, juicy and powerful. Wow! The flavor is similar; loads of bitter hops, fresh and tasty. Some rich milky coffee and malts balance it out. Very interesting and rich. Very nice, I was skeptical of a IIPA turned Impy but it is very nice. tjthresh (1872) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - MAR 2, 2009
Opaque black with a light brown head. Certain hop character in the nose with some nice roasty notes too. Really nice blend of all your typical imperial stout flavors. I get some roast, chocolate, cream, tobacco...it sort of reminds me of Creme Brule Light. Its pretty damn bitter too. Med light body. And very easy to drink. This is a wonderful suprise. 11th rating of this 11%er. Bomber I got at Hi-Times Wine the day after Woodshop Quad. Pours dark dark black with a 2 finger tan head. Nose is sweet with a quite big hoppy nose, with some nice malt. Taste is sweet and rich with a lot of hops. Overall I’m impressed by the hybrid. A bit too hoppy for an impy but interesting nonetheless. ditmier (1508) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 21, 2009
2008 Bottle - Pours a medium consistency, black, with a large tan head, huge lacing...aroma is like a DIPA with a bit of barrel...flavour is charred bitters, chocolate, dried fruit and pine resin...don’t really taste the alcohol, but you sure feel it...it is thinner than expected, but unique enough that it defies classification...far more enjoyable then the regular Black Flag... Black in color with a large light brown head with great lace. The aroma is oc bitter chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, oak and cream with a boozy overtone. The flavor is very aggressive and bitter with notes of chocolate, espresso and alcohol. The texture was watery. Overall its a very in your face beer, its one of the most aggressive beers Ive had. the texture was a let down however.

Bottle, sent in a picture to be uploaded (as the current one is the regular Black Flag). Wow, this is hard to notes the small 2008 Hop Harvest edition stamp in white print. Green cap. I have passed this up before thinking it was the regular one without looking closely. Pours with a large, creamy light brown head and a black body with red tinges. Great lacing and full retention. Aroma is chocolaty with cereal, fruity hops and vanilla. Taste is really bitter with both hops and coffee. Very in your face and aggressive. Super bitter with espresso. Thinnish mouthfeel. I doubt this thing is 11% ABV. Light bubbles. This beer is a total assailment of hops and coffee bitterness. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - DEC 19, 2008
22oz bottle. Dark pour with a light tan head. Slight coffee and chocolate aroma. Dark roasty malts, some coffee and dark chocolate flavor as well. Nice hop bite too it as well. Tasty. mjg74 (3199) - La Mesa, California, USA - DEC 11, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2009 Bomber from Del Cerro. Very dark in color. Doesn’t seem as dark as the original release. Some roasted malt qualities in the nose with a huge hop aroma. Super hoppy scent for a stout. Very nice roasted flavors with some coffee and chocolate. Great hoppiness as well. The bitter hoppy finish gives this beer a really nice drink-ability for its hugeness. jake65 (4033) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - DEC 3, 2008
Bottle: Dark brown pour with a nice sized creamy brown head. Lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is roasty malt and a deep citrus hop presence peeking through. Tastes roasty and of light coffee with a lingering citrus hop bitterness. Some light cocoa as well. I love the addition of a hoppy presence over the original. Outside of the realm of many impys and imho, much better! BuckeyeBoy (8859) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 30, 2008
Bottle Pours out a nice black Flag like topped with a tan head. Aroma of roast malt, coffee, and some hops. Tast the sweetness of chocolate along with the hop is a great combo. I did a side by side with the reg Black Flag this one was much better.
