22 ounce bottle purchased at the Covell Nugget in Davis, CA. Can’t say I have ever heard of these brewers. The bottle was priced $9.99, so it better not be shit. Aroma is awkward...there is a solvent and cidery quality to it. Almost smells like acetone. There is also some burnt anise present. Mildly transparent dark brown body with a decent tan head that has good staying-power. Fine, bubbly lacing. Starts burnt with just a flash of sweetness. A touch of coffee is there. Finishes with a ton of ashy, highly bitter, medicinal black patent malts. All of the hops impart aspirin flavors, which is a real turnoff. Not enjoyable at all. The finish dominates this beer, which really fails to show me any quality craftsmanship. Another big, flawed, imperial beer that is just not good.

Bottle. Pitch black, nice light brown head. In aroma lots of coffee, but fruity aroma from coffee, some chocolate and roastiness. In taste medium sweet, strong roasted coffee flavour. Full bodied, creamy, soft carbonation, finish is floral bitter hops. Great RIS.

At a tasting, thanks, opaque black color, small creamy bubbly brown head, flavor of dark bread, chocolate and cocoa, lots of chocolate in flavor, lasting shrubby bitterness and just a hint of smoke, light sweetness getting stronger, tounge coating sensation. Good and solid.

Pours dark/black With small beige head. Roasted aroma and coffee. Bitter taste of coffee, quite bitter, and dark chocolate, with bitter yet pleasent finish. Mild carbonation with a creamy texture.

Beautiful nougat colored foam and a delicate aroma of hard toasted / roasted malt with distinct mocha tones. The flavor is cold coffee with a slightly burnt character. Lots of heavy malt body and only a slight discrete alcohol taste held down by coffee, roasted malt and a moderate hoppy bitterness. It’s a really nice imperial, but unfortunately the little anonymous in the amount of Imperial Stouts. It lacks just a little special character to step out of the crowd, and a well-tempered Limfjords Porter from Thisted in Denmark could easily have done it as well.

At the Portland International Beerfest, Saturday June 25, 2015.
Clear deep dark red to black color, light brown head. Coffee, roasted, a bit sweet taste. Roasted, coffee aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Roasted, coffee scent.

Growler from Albertsons. CO2 fill pours out with a fast rising, creamy beige head that stays fluffy throughout. Dark roast grains and bitter chocolate dominate the aroma. Taste follows with tons of roast grain bitterness. A hint of alcohol warmth at the finish, but mostly bitter. Top notch RIS.

Cristinada (11) - CHILE - MAR 9, 2015
Black beer, creamy brown head. In aroma has notes of bitter chocolate, brownie and even some roasty character like coffee and bread and a little bit of licorice. Creamy texture with chocolate character and roastiness, some of hop bitterness and a warm finish
