Bottle from the brewery. Dark, muddy brown, lightly hopped. Malt at the forefront reminiscent of a doppelbock. Not bad, but not your typical cascadian dark ale. Some might dry bitterness at the finish. cstuartj (1020) - Washington, USA - FEB 21, 2014
bottle, pours a cloudy muddy brown, big head. nose is okay, hops, malt, sugary. clean taste, some hop, some malt, pretty mild. just okay. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - JAN 31, 2014
On draft at Tap 25. It pours a cloudy copper color with an off white head. The aroma is toasted with some cocoa. Maybe a hint of woody hops. The flavor is more toast and a mild fruitiness that throws it off for me. Strong, earthy bitterness in the finish. This didn’t quite do it for me. Somethings off. ericdevin (988) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - NOV 11, 2013
Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a slightly cloudy brown, decent amount of tan head. Aroma unimpressive, slight, a bit of roastiness, maybe some resin as well. Body big, roasty. Finish warm, a bit of chocolate and sweetness. Not bad, just not horribly impressive. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - SEP 19, 2013
Bottle:   Muddy brown, thick, hazy, small to moderate tannish head, foamy, little lacing.   Soft hop and soft roasted malts on the nose.   A slight touch of cow pasture, but its minor.   A rather tame example.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Decent balance, a bit hoppy, some roasted malts, but overall its really light.   A little chalky and astringent.   Mild example that isn’t all that clean.

On tap at Hot City Pizza, roasted aroma and taste, very little bitterness, meh.

Pretty nice black IPA. Quite hop-oriented, and correspondingly high bitterness. The malt base can't keep up its side of the flavor equation tho -- not sufficiently roasty -- and thus the beer is a bit unbalanced. B.

Bomber. A decent India Dark Ale. Citrus and pine. Roasted malts in the background. Middle is a bit weak, almost watery. Bitter finish. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 26, 2013
Bottle picked up tonight at the COOP.. pours a hazy almost black... dark dark brown with enough light through the stem of the glass that reveals a murky quality.. the head is 2 finger light brown with great retention.
Nose is much more dark malt dominated than most CDA’s... thick roast and some light brown sugar then the hops try to battle back but get hammered.... Piney hops are sorta light IMO.
Flavor is overly balanced toward the black malts... sorta oily maltiness gives way midpalate to a dry molasses with a very surprisingly light pine/citrus zest light hop bite.. finish is a bit of char.
Body is light/medium with a slippery feel... light carbonation.
Not too impressed... this is my 3rd bottle. I was hoping for more, but was pretty underwhelmed.
Seems like an overly hopped dry stout if I was drinking it blind. bhensonb (15618) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 21, 2013
Bomber from Malt and Vine. Pours opaque brown with a creamy dark beige head. Aroma is chocolate with a little citrus/pine backdrop. Near full bodied, at least until the carb leaves. The flavor is dark roast malt, chocolate, earth, and arguably citrus/pine. There’s a very light hop burn, but the hop flavors are submerged in the malt parts. Well balanced. Neither sweet nor dry exactly. With time some citrus/pine aspects become clearer - must be mouth buildup. Good ale, but not amazingly good.
