On tap @ The Bistro DIPA Fest 2016. Murky orange beer with a white head. Get a lot of sweet citrus fruits like orange slice candies, lemon drops, and some grapefruit juice. There’s a rather strong bitterness of pine and citrus pith, too. Actually comes off a bit harsh, I think. Plenty of sweetness in terms of malts, too. Strong caramel and table sugar. Maybe even a touch of astringency/grain husks to the finish. bb (9423) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 28, 2014
Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Buttered popcorn aroma with earth and grapefruit. Grapefruit and pine flavor with breadiness and caramel. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine lingers with breadiness and caramel. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Nice looking color and head, lacing as well.   Certainly hoppy, fresh, vibrant, with citrus peel and pith, a touch candied at times.   Strong hoppiness lingers, but it has a nice balance of malts in there.   Moderately sweet, yet the hops take center stage.   Very solid beer, clean, certainly hoppy, with a strong lingering hop finish.   Surprised to see that it was brewed with brown rice.   Not sure what or how that adds to the beer, but this one is solid.   Semi-sweet pithiness lingers.   Solid beer!
