3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber of 2012 Edition. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a dense layer of white foam and bubble clusters. Aroma starts out earthy and herbal with notes of honey, peach, orange citrus and pineapple. The flavor opens up with a shot of hops resin and vegetal bitterness followed by some tangerine, passion fruit, pine and grapefruit rind. Also some bready malt characteristics in the background and a bit of citrus-flavored alcohol toward the end. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth with moderate carbonation and an aggressively bitter, resiny finish. Overall, a potent and flavorful blend of concentrated leafy green hops flavors.
Draft at Bitter Creek. Another stellar looking beer. Curtains of lacing. Gentle hoppy aroma. Taste is also gentle, but sublime. Fresh hops gives this one a nudge in the right direction. Not overly bitter, but a textbook example of the style. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 9, 2016
1" head .... fairly aggressive pour into my Smokestack Goblet... descent lacing ... brew is very hop hazed orange.
Aroma is a powerful punch of grapefruit ... sorta an orangey honey maltiness also.
Wow... this is more bitter than I remember the regular version. Huge hop flavor profile.. big grapefruity.. sorta pithy... I even have grapefruit flavored burps (gross I know, but deScriptive right?) ... plenty of malty sweetness... but it’s pounded off my palate by a thick wave of oily hops... Body is on the thick side, but it is accentuated by a fairly low carbonation level.
The finish is a loooong tongue coating pink grapefruit blast. ACHops (1582) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 6, 2014
2014 Fresh Hop version, served in a tulip glass. Pours heavily cloudy pale golden with thick fluffy white head, plenty of sediment as well. Aroma is light citrusy floral fresh hops. Taste is medium strong pale malt, and big grapefruit, piney, fresh citrus hops that finish bitter. Some good flavors here, but pretty unbalanced. Regular Leafer is a decent DIPA, much less balanced here with the malt quite light and the fresh hops rough here. beertholomeus (1813) - California, USA - JAN 2, 2014
Pours a golden amber color with a thick white head. Hop, pine, citrus, caramel and malt aroma. Hop, pine, grapefruit, caramel, orange and malt flavors. Medium body and carbonation. Bitter taste and a bitter citrus finish. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 19, 2013
Hop Harvest 2011, fresh!
A: Pours a copper ale with two full fingers of whipped tan foam which persists for quite some time before resigning to a full quilt of the same. Sheets of lace. Near excellent clarity.
S: Reserved pine, citrus, grapefruit, pineapple and resin. The malts are not coming through. This is madness! An interesting hint of fresh muddled mint.
T: Whoa, packs a punch! The bitterness is stronger than anticipated, and is followed by plenty of citrus rinds and some resiny oily hops. Some grassy and hay like flavors.
M: Medium bodied with moderately hi carb finishes dry.
O: As advertised, plenty of hops. Primary wish is that more thought would go into the scheduling. Not much nose complexity or enticement.

Cream colored head, disipates to 1/4", but leaves heavy lace behind. Body color orange, slightly cloudy. Aromas of hops, lychee, and grapefruit. Taste of grapefruit, bitter orange, and slightly sweet finish somehow?! Not dry at all, but still bitter. bhensonb (15187) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 8, 2012
Bomber from Bine & Vine. Hopefully a 2012 version. Pours very hazy orange/amber with a creamy white head. Seems to be grapefruit aroma. Med + body. It’s almost chewy. Sort of laidback grapefruit flavor. Lots of hop, finishing bitter. Not at all harsh. poisoneddwarf (2511) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Bomber shared with Brenn79, thanks. Aroma is citrusy. Pours a cloudy cantaloupe hue with a decent head. Taste is lightly sweet and turns bitter mid-palate and remains fairly bitter through the long finish. It’s okay, but nothing to write home about. davidmg (49) - SPAIN - JUN 12, 2012
