Bottled (thanks omhper). Amber colour, big off-white fluffy/creamy head, that leaves good lace. Aroma is grains, grass, fruits, earth and some mild caramel. Flavour is fruity, caramelly, crisp malty as well as mildly alcoholic. omhper (25128) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUL 19, 2010
Draught at Elk Public House, Spokane, WA. Hazy deep golden, minimal head. Concentrated lemon/lychee aroma. Mid sweet with solid, clean, rounded body. Hop driven where lemon hides the alcohol exceptionally well. Citric finish where the bitterness just keep growing. Flavourful without being edgy. Good job! Hazy amber beer. Caramel malt nose. Softish palate. Hoppy but surprisingly mellow. There is plenty of hop here but just mellow grapefruit! Aniseed alcohol well blended in. Finishes a little dry and with a slightly warm afterglow. Drinkable but was expecting something with a lot more hop.
Bottle in Johan’s apartment after the first day of the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours a lightly cloudy gold with a fine, white head. Caramel and toasty malts make up the bulk of the aroma, with some piney hops at the edges. Medium sweet flavor with plenty of woody, dirty and grassy bitters, along with some caramel sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild warmth on the finish, with light yeast, toast, slightly abrasive grass and pine. A bit more caramel maltiness than might be required, but that doesn’t spoil the beer.
