Slight aroma of BO. Big nasty IPA impact, wew. Chew on some green grapefruit rinds. Nasty Nellie and terribly on style, this is good for IPA competition.

Flowery citrus and grapefruit in the aroma. Flavor is bittersweet with citrus bitterness and underlying caramel malt. Fruity, flowery, bitter finish. A solid IPA for a warm day.

Mostly clear orange with medium white head. Aroma herbal hops and a bit of malt. Medium body. Flavor is mildly bitter grassy and citrus hops, off dry malty finish. Decent balance, not bad overall.

$6. I had the cask-conditioned version offered at the source, with which had been dry-hopped with Ahtanum hops. To tulip, it pours a hazy milky orange with a sudsy white ringed head barely a fingernail in length. Smells and tastes of pilsner malt, pencil shavings, erasers, dried elderberries, lawn trimmings, juniper twigs, sweat, and clementine zest. Yeast and caramel by swallow. Ends salty. Interesting, but unquestionably unbalanced: the sweet to bitter ratio was all over the place in this one. I wasn’t expecting much from this place anyway.

JaBier (7972) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Sample at the Canal St location. Pours clear gold with a thick white head. Aroma of malty sweetness and fresh oranges. Malty flavor with spicy and peppery hop character before a bitter finish of grass and grapefruit peel. Pretty nice brew, and only edged out by the Houblon Rouge for me.

nimbleprop (8382) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - FEB 7, 2013
16oz pour at Salem Beer Works. Hazy bright orange, fluffy white head. Nose is hoppy, but nothing distinguishable, malty, even some candy sugar. Flavor is bitter but a bland bitterness, sweet, malty, lemon candy. Full, sticky finish. A very generic attempt at a DIPA.

3.2
fiveacestx (970) - Texas, USA - JAN 7, 2013
Tap - golden yellow with lacing. Hoppy but not extreme. Has kind of an orange/butterscotch flavor to it. Medium mouthfeel and a clean finish.

Gorgeous, full on hop scent. Honey-colored brew with a foamy head. Medium bodied with an overpowering & actually harsh hop flavor. This beer more resembles an IPA than your everyday pale ale.

Nice citrusy hop smell that follows right into the taste. Crisp, clean refreshing. Very good beer from a style I don’t really like
