Sample from tap at the brewpub in Canal street. Pours orange light brown with a white head. Aroma is grape fruit hops. Flavour is dry and bitter with a clear fruitiness and malt base. No sweetness what so ever. Dry and strong bitter finish. Travlr (24745) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Cask at Canal St, dry-hopped with Centennial. Cloudy golden amber color, white head, solid lacing. Aroma of grass and pine. Taste is floral citrus, straw, raw bread dough. Nice. Leighton (21239) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2015
Can in Salisbury. Pours mostly clear gold with a frothy, off-white head. The nose holds musty grains, lemon, some citrus rind. Light sweet flavor with prominent citrusy tartness, some wood, berries, earthy hops; seems like this beer is infected. Light in body with average to lively carbonation. Finishes with some lemony tartness, mild grass and wood, some berries, damp earth. Quite interesting, though certainly not anywhere near as intended. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 2, 2011
A: This one pours amber in color with a white head.
S: Smells rather bland. Seems to be mostly bready malt with a light floral and grass hop note. Maybe some toasted malt and toffee.
T: A very grassy hop flavor. Light bitterness with some yeast and bready malts. Also sort of bland. A very faint fruit note in there somewhere, maybe we’ll call it citrus peel.
M: Light bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Rather lackluster and unenjoyable pale ale. I’d skip this one. DSG (14784) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 22, 2017

Sample at Beer Works Fenway (tower version): The beer is an orange-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Very little lacing of which to speak. Citrusy hops aroma with hints of roasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter and dry. Overall another forgettable and average beer.jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAR 19, 2006
(Cask version): Very similar to the regular beer, just with more muted aromas and flavors. Also a rounder, softer finish. Same score.

"i’m gonna have to do some research and find out what hop is the ass hop, or maybe there’s something else going on. slight aroma and flavor of bitter ass. not as prominent as, say, the Jospeh James pale ale, which was wretched and smelled like a fart, but this ain’t a good beer either. some pleasant bitterness really the only decent thing going for it. average at best, but really, that’s even a stretch."
