   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20
JorisPPattyn (10163) - - APR 10, 2010
Draught; 1 year on keg Huge, dense yellowish head over red-orange, veiled beer, leaving shards of lace. Extremely fruity nose, estery with strawberries, pineapple, sweet woodruff and faint citrus. Definitely quite complex, rosehips at the end. Again fruity flavours, less defined, bit of acidity and quite estery; sweet-sourish, balanced. Dry, just-not-hoppy palate with remarkably discreet alcohol. Wormwood in the aftertaste, not excessively bitter however. Balanced, but less alcohol-vinous than previous editions?

Thank you Koelschtrinker. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. Sampled after the 2012 Vintage. Dark red amber toffee appearance. Nose is oxidized thinned out, sour oak, red fruit, oxidized cherry,… Too oxidized much like the 2012. Not jam-like sadly unlike a fresh one. Taste is too oxidized, thin acidic wood, oak, leaves, oak, oxidized cherry, oak,… Thinned out body. Still good but nowhere near on par with a fresh one. I miss the jam-like thickness & massive fruit of a fresh one.

Bottle. Hazy amber color with tan head. Aroma is a more delicate and round version of the Saint Bon Chien how you know it, slightly oxidized. Taste is a bit candied sugar, balanced, a bit oxidized, slightly sour, very refined. A bit too delicate, but very very good!
