Bottle. Mild aroma, dry and with a hint of stable. Dry mouth with a pleasant freshness and some spice. Ending is surprisingly bitter with a grassy note. Very appealing saison.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly hazy golden/orange/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, citrus zest, white pepper, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, citrus zest, white pepper, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness, herbal/floral/grassy bitterness, and slight yeast tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, citrus zest, white pepper, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is an excellent saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Probably older than preferred here, but this still tastes great. Classic saison yeast complexity, balanced malts, and nice earthy hop presence. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2018 Robe jaune. Levure, pain, citron et, en fin de bouche, une petite amertume en finale. Assez classique et bien équilibrée pour une saison.

Marstonlad (1010) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 22, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2018 Bottle from K-market Mansku, Helsinki. Pours cloudy golden with a big frothy head. The aroma features grainy maltiness, some fruitiness and herbs; malt-driven, slightly lagery. Taste is dry and light bitter; fairly crisp and faintly tart throughout. Flavours of grapefruit, zest and grain. The palate is medium-bodied, average to lively in carbonation. Fairly standard, if a bit malt-oriented saison. Drinkable.

0.33 l bottle from K-Citymarket Ruoholahti, Helsinki. Appearance is golden, cloudy and huge head. Taste is quite dry and a bit spicy, but maybe that's just the hops. Not really hoppy, but dry. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

L'arôme est la levure, les épices et le zeste de citron. Le goût est citrique avec quelques notes persistantes à base de plantes. Super buvable mais pas super excitant.
