500ml bottle from Morrisons, UK, as part of their 4 for £6 offer. It pours black, with a thin beige head that dissipates quickly until it is no more than a ring around the edge of the glass. A fresh aroma, faint hints of malt and caramel. Light bodied, with light-medium carbonation. The taste is only a bit dry, malty, burnt caramel and a hint of twiglets - maybe not the most complex or intriguing, but enjoyable. Overall, a recommendable stout.

Brewed with a combination of five different malts, some heavily roasted for a near jet black appearance, and beneath its dark exterior features luxurious red berry notes, toasty aromas on the nose and culminates in a dry, bitter finish.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2018 Bottle. Black with a small white/beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, red berries, dark chocolate, cocoa and earthy/floral hops. Taste follows aroma. Long lasting dry aftertaste of dark chocolate. Moderate bitterness. Medium to strong carbonation. Very balanced. A lovely Stout, easy drinking but rewarding.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2018 Tan head that disappears quickly. Fine pores. Clear and slight carbonation. Creamy, smooth in the mouth, dry on the tongue. Smell of biscuits and fruit. Taste is initially citrus fruit, develops to dark chocolate (over 80% cocoa), and finishes with a distinct cranberry taste. Overall fruit dominance with chocolate, malt, and even little floral notes coming through. Overall, nice development and variance.

On tap, Churchill Arms, Stockholm. Deep brown, lighly tanned head. Chocolate and light coffee notes. Plums and dates, ending in lightly bitter roasted notes. A great stout of ”normal” abv.

Good stout, very smooth., Mainly chocolate and vanilla in taste, bit of roasty notes. Good biterness but not too high.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2018 Bottle. Pours black, cream head that reduces to a clinging line around edge of glass. Faint aroma of dark chocolate and dark fruit -plum perhaps. Taste is lovely as expected; chocolate, faint vanilla, earth, not too bitter. Fairly fizzy but with enough body to be interesting. Impressive beer for mid ABV.
