This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you’ll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

This beer is really good it is very sweet for a stout style beer. I like the dark look of the beer

Nothing really doing it for me with this stout. About average. Carbonation a little high for the style, which messed up the feel a bit. Sweet chocolate malt was ok. Balance towards the sweet side. Might be better on tap or perhaps sitting in bottle too long. Not a bad beer, just sort of forgettable.

(Bottle) Black body with a small brown head. Coffee and grain aroma with some chocolate. Medium to medium-full bodied; creamy mouthfeel. Flavor of toasted malt; light roasted coffee, caramel; nutty.

Bottle from Old Town. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of beige foam that lingers. Milk chocolate aromas with some chocolate cookie and soy sauce notes. Creamy and soft on the palate with a roasty bitterness that comes out. Roasty finish that lingers.

12floz bottle, BOD: 10.16.2017, $1.75 unit cost, nonic glass. Pours with a one finger head atop a dark body with hues of brown that show in the light. Smooth aroma invokes roasted and to a lesser extent sweet qualities. Dark chocolate is the dominant flavor, but there is some subtle dark fruit sweetness too (charcoal when taken in bigger gulps). Of course there is the given coffee component. Body is medium and creamy feeling. I self recommend to me, I do.

Very nice. Pours opaque, dark coffee brown with large puffy tan head. Dark roasted aroma, coffee. Taste is rich lightly sweet, dark roasted toast, coffee, nutty notes, with a slightly acidic/ashy/hoppy finish. Full bodied palate. Overall excellent oatmeal stout.

Pour dark with a thick, foamy head. Aroma is of sweet chocolate and soy sauce. Taste is sweet chocolate with a slight bite of hops. A solid stout with a good deal of availability to people of all beer tastes.

On tap at the brewpub. Long time ago. This was the first and the best one of the night. The type of sweet stout I enjoy. I have little recollections on details. Shameless tickmark here for the hoarding.

On tap. Yummy stout, very nicely balanced. Dark, toasty and just a bit of sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
