jgb9348 (6780) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUN 25, 2017Hazy golden coloured body with a nice slightly opaque pure white glow and a small head, only about a centimetre tall on top. Aroma of grasses, hay, light yeast, citrus, bread and a dose of caster sugar - fairly dry throughout. Medium-bodied; Very grassy and herbal flavours up front with a smooth, complex yeast flavour that shows a hint of sweetness and a mellow bite of earth near the tail end. Aftertaste shows some grasses, hay, earth and a dose of flowers, all with yeast and bready flavours very strong. Overall, a nice saison that shows pretty well and has some very dry complexities. I sampled this 33 cL bottle (I bet they put it in his european sized bottle and no one knew/cares about it, and are saving 0.8 ounces on every bottle!) purchased from Total Beverage in Thornton, Colorado on 12-March-2017 for US$3,13, sampled at home in Washington on 24-June-2017.
Braudog (7016) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - JUN 19, 2017Bottle. This pours a hazy yellow, with a marshmallowy, silky white foam top.
I think most would guess this as the saison it says it is. Indeed it delivers quite the saison character, fruity and frothy. Not sure the single hop aspect adds much attractiveness to it ... it’s a sturdy saison. (#6664, 6/15/2017)
AWISLguy (3609) - Wisconsin, USA - JUN 19, 2017Flight at the source during ck1 birthday trip. Smooth fruit. Tangy. The yeast is subtle as the hop melds well. Underrated hop, and interesting blend. 14.
Quick3Beers (1658) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 3, 2017Pours a hazy lemon yellow from a bottle. Faint lemon Italian soda aroma, first sip is a light grape followed by classic saison yeast bringing some lemon and hay, a long with a white pepper spice. Starts off round in the mouth then thins out to the traditional saison. Okay beer.
