Pours a coal black color with a foamy, huge dark brown head. Smells of rock sugar enhanced vanilla bean atop caramel, molasses, toffee and milk chocolate. Bourbon is adding a sweet spice note to the nose, boozy and a little sharp, but gently wrapped up by the complex malt foundation. Has a very thick, creamy and smooth mouthfeel with a nice spice peak to it, which lasts on the tongue for quite a bit. Showcases an amazing balance, holding the beers profound sweetness amazingly well at bay. Tastes of toasty malts, melted caramel, flowery vanilla, which gets amped up by whipped cream and rock sugar. The barrel brings warming licorice, bitter chocolate, herbal sweets and fudge. Finishes creamy and soothing with lots of fudge and milk chocolate entangled vanilla bean. This is pretty sweet, but it is balanced so incredibly well that its sweetnessgets perfectly picked up by the other flavors, creating an amaingly tasty dessert beer.

Base beer is great with chocolate and coffee, here we have raw vanilla beans flavor, definitely not like from a bourbon barrel, but like a freshly cut bean.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2017 22 oz bottle from an IP trade with Richiesd (thanks again!), all by myself, to save on space and weight in my check-in luggage...Pitch black color with a very dense brown head, good retention and lacing. Aroma's: a lot of vanilla, sweetness, bourbon, some coffee/mocha, a bit (hazel?)nutty and roast. Retronasal it's sweet, vanilla, light red fruit. Flavor is light heavy sweet with some fruit. Warming alcoholfeel. Medium bodied (could have been a wee bit fuller). Long finish with light roast and wood, a hint of bitterness. Very nice!

22 oz bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma and flavor have big vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt, bourbon is well integrated probably because the double dose of vanilla from the beans and the barrel, light coffee notes, this one is as much about the vanilla as the green was about the hazelnut, rich, decadent, definitely worth the try if you get the chance.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2017 Bottle. Poured black color with a moderate frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent legs. Heavy toasted chocolate malt, wood and vanilla aroma. Copious body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy toasted chocolate malt and vanilla flavor with a heavy dark vanilla sweet finish of long duration. This is a another standout beer.
