Clear brown pour with a thin white head. Aroma is malty and a little sweet. Not much hop nose. Flavor is clean but sweet, mostly malt. Not bad with hot Thai food. ganache (5852) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 10, 2010
Bottle. Very sweet, grassy nose. Dark chestnut pour with a rocky beige head. Medium slimy body. Taste is very bitter, some nutty and mildly chocolaty tones, a little girt and a lastingly dry boney aftertaste - not metallic or anything, but sort of vegetal and off. Still, enjoyed this with base food. jeff789 (1408) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 15, 2010
Clear brown with a quickly fading big white head, decent lacing.... Sweet malty aroma, smells sticky, not a hop presence at all... Flavor is not bad at all for what it is, not as sweet as it smells, a small touch of hops, decent flavor... Easy drinking, sweetness cuts the alcohol nicely... Appearance: actually pretty good-looking beer; dark clear amber with a big creamy head that lasts; lots of residual lacing. Aroma: for a darker beer, the nose was pretty peppery, with some pilsner-y notes up front and only a hint of the expected sweet malt. Taste: slightly bitter, spicy hops, a little funky tang on the back of the tongue, then just a bit of sweetness. Finish: long, slightly metallic and medicinal. Notes: Hmm…very nice to look at, and the palate was surprisingly nuanced: smooth and creamy yet good carbonation. Higher alcohol than you’d expect. They are clearly trying. However, the taste was a little to spicy/bitter for a darker lager. I would expect more sweetness. Not bad, but not great either. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - SEP 22, 2010
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2011 Pours a clear dark chestnut brown with fair tan head. Not that great. Astringent. Old hops. A little nutty smelling which was pleasant, but the flavor just is lacking a little. meh.

Had this at a Thai place right across the street from Blind Tiger NYC. Typical dark light beer from an asian place. Just a tick and a good tick seeing that this is from LAOS. Dark brown transparent pour. Taste is thin with carmel and grassy tfinish. Didn’t care too much for this one. meerbier (1474) - Pijnacker, NETHERLANDS - AUG 9, 2010

Malty, bit sugary, tasty and flavourful Dunkel. I quite enjoyed this with a good meal.
Huge shiny beige head. Deep dark red body with strong carbonation. Artificial earthy roasty aroma with soy sauce notes. Dry-sweet medicinal earthy taste with soy sauce notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Dry roasty syrupy soy sauce aftertaste. Yuk. Useless. (0.33l bottle, Fish and Beer, Copenhagen.) Niko100 (2889) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 25, 2010
