Pours a clear brown with orange highlights and a tan head. The smell is brown sugar, toasted malt. The taste is brown sugar, toasted malt a little chocolate. Light+ body with average carbonation.

Bottle in Tad Lo, Laos. Clear amber-brown colour with a small head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavour is sweetish with caramel and poor malt flavour, medium bodied. A waste of time but the food was amazing and it worked.

seymour (2120) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - JUN 4, 2015
Enjoyed at a cool Thai restaurant in Little Five Points, Atlanta, Georgia. Poured from 12oz brown into a shaker glass, a clear copper colour with moderate offwhite foam, a litle lace. To be honest, the menu simply read "Beerlao" so I thought I was ordering just another macro pale lager. I was pleasantly surprised when it poured so dark and exhibited some rich malty aromas and flavours. Caramel, toffee, molasses, sweet but not sticky or cloying, with a measured hoppy balance. Light body, strong carbonation, nice round mouthfeel. It finished drier than I expected, but with some subtle fruity and caramelly aftertastes. Pretty good stuff, especially paired with spicy green curry. I would gladly order it again.

Bottle in (multiple) Thai restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. Aroma: Malt, Cereal, Grain, lil’ fruit, sweetness Appearance: Dark, amber, very small head Taste/palate is same as aroma, with a bare hint of alcohol in the back. It’s a sweet amber lager. There are worse choices though as there is nothing super off-putting. It’s just a bit boring.

Bottle thanks to my wife: Poured a light caramel mixed color with a white head. Aroma is sweet malt. Taste was soggy cardboard, malts, and toffee. Very drinkable.
