The beer glass for this beer is definitely quite exquisite, though how it is remotely worth 60€ is beyond me. The beer pours with a frothy, meringue like head that is just palely tanned. There is a touch of haze to the golden body. The beer is aromatic with a spicy / floral character to it; I get notes of ginger, white pepper, honey-like malt, bright pear and ripe green apples as well as notes of clove and cardamom. Hay-like pale-wheat like aromatics are joined by some cracker like notes as well. When sediment was added to the glass it contributes an earthy, yeasted note to the aroma and somehow rounds things out.
The beer is fizzy, with a carbonic, peppery bite to it as it first hits my tongue. There is a touch of malt sweetness (honey and sweet pale malt) here, but it is dry overall because of the hop bite, bitterness and spicy, peppery finish. The malt character contributes a hay like and cracker leaning dryness to this beer. Spicy clove notes are quite apparent and there are also notes that remind me of coriander, cardamom and perhaps even some nutmeg. Addition of the sediment brings a roundness to the flavor that mutes the pepper and adds an earthy yeast note to the finish.
This seems to be a beer meant to be drunk and enjoyed on a daily basis. It is very well balanced between the malt, hop, spice and yeast character that all play an equal role, contributing to a harmonious whole. The glass really is quite nice, and at the least, very interesting and no doubt contributes to the overall effect of this beer.

(33cl bottle dated 5/15/10 thanks to bu11zeye) clearish golden, thick creamy white head and nice lacing. Nose of candi sugar, celery, and Belgian yeast. Taste of Belgian yeast, lightly spicy, candi sugar, and light spices. Prickly carbonation, grassy linger. mzaar (3552) - Varberg, SWEDEN - NOV 27, 2010
An ordinary beer. "Housebeer" of the nice place BeerMania in Brussels. Since it´s rare it was a nice experience to drink it, but once was enough when you have som many other great beers in Belgium.

Bottle at BeerMania. Amber colour. Aroma is of hops and some yeast. Taste is first really good and dominated by yeast and hops. Then, unfortunately, comes a weird metallic taste. Still better than expected. eManu (547) - Kuala Lumpur & Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 19, 2009
From Beer Mania, and presented in a very special unique glass. Pours a clear gold color with a big white head. Aroma is very malty and with spices and a bit floral. Flavors of malts, citrus and floral. Spices and some honey. A good carbonation and a note of yeast with a light sweet and bitter finish. Very pleasant and well ballanced with some great flavors. jgb9348 (6388) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - SEP 27, 2009
When opened, bottle started to foam, but not so much, not enough to lose any liquid before it could be poured. Beautiful golden coloured body with a thinnish tan white head, one centimetre tall and a trillion small bubbles rising from the bottom & sides. Aroma of yeast, wheat, coriander seed, apples, pears, honey and a touch of spices - nice! Medium-bodied with a super effervescent mouthful. Tart apples up front fades to a lot of wheat, some yeast, honey and a dose of spices. Coats the mouth with dry biere de garde flavours and a touch of hay. Aftertaste shows a decent amount of sweetness and a very light alcohol flavour. Overall, a pretty good beer - definitely one that bridges styles: belgie ale, tripel, biere de garde and saison are all possible styles on this one! I liked it quite a bit, and have been waiting to drink it...I wish I could get this whenever I want, just like I wish I could always go into the store :-) I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased on 17-November-2008 from Beer Mania (of course) in Bruxelles, Belgium, sampled on the other side of the pond at home in Washington. fiulijn (20993) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 8, 2009
