Slightly cloudy cherry chestnut color with a large off-white head. The aroma was full of roasty tones, nutty tones, some nice pine/citrus hops, and an interesting spearmint character. The flavor was full-on roasted/nuttiness with a citrusy twang at the end. The feel was slightly crisp, slightly watery...semi-wet finish. Very nice amber ale. I was really surprised! Nice hop bite with a slight caramel sweetness to offset the bitterness. The price is what caught my eye, this is a great beer at a good price. DaSilky1 (2606) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 28, 2005
poured a orange-red influenced amber color with a ring of suds. crystalized resin aroma with notes of burnt sugar, dough, mint, and caramel. The aroma has a hint of an aged feel to it. Full body with decent balancing of hops and caramel maltiness..hops are somewhat minty & herbal...Flawless for the style but doesn’t do much for me. Malty and fruity, pretty nice, A little too sweet for me, but I like alot of hops, so I’m biased. A pretty well balanced beer, I’d drink it again! mjg74 (3106) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 23, 2005
Pours a dark ruby red color. Aroma is fruity, malty and hoppy. Flavor starts of hoppy with a little bit of maltiness. Also has a roasted fruity sort of flavor going on. Not bad.

Bronze with a tannish head and lacing is just ok. Malt aromas. Some metallic notes. Citrus and alcohol with some pine. Nice blend of malts in the flavors. Citrus hops. Caramel and other sweet malts. Piney and earthy hops as well. Spicy and sweet. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - AUG 11, 2004
Amber bronze. Hopps with notes of caramel malts in the nose. The flavor is balanced with a weight towards dry hops & spices. Finishes balanced, creamy, very nice malt focus. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 27, 2004
Clear copper body with medium beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, chocolate, some earthy, nutty. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, chocolate, nutty, finishes with some earthy and grapefruit along with chocolate. Light-medium body. This would make a nice "transition beer." 3fourths (9341) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 20, 2004
Failr good regular amber, the hops are there. Rich and solid bodied, flavors of light wood and some caramel/pine hops with a roasted nut quality. Thanks to beerguy101 for the bottle. lachesis (757) - St Idesbald, BELGIUM - JUL 18, 2004
Great color of ripe cherry’s with a nice warm glow and a fine creamy head. Good complex nose of red fruits, fine spices, colheita port, selfmade fruitcakes, pepper and fine malts. This beer has a complex taste with a good freshness and a fine dosis of fresh ripe red fruits, soft spices, malts, frosty’s,and nobel hops. It has a good body and fine malty taste with a good freshness of red fruits. In the afthertaste there is a fine accent of fine hops.
