Jet black pour with a thin, off white, slightly tan head. Aroma of dark malts and slightly sweet. Smooth, almost milk-like mouth feel. Dry finish. Lots of roasted malt and slightly fruity. Dry ashy flavors. No lace. markducommun (1116) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 12, 2016
Deep opaque black, small tan head. Dark roast coffee, small honey molasses sweetness. Some light fruit notes. Quite bitter, maybe overly. Some light sweetness. Heavier body, quite a lot of oiliness. Fairly upfront alcohol. Decent, not super well balanced.

(22oz bomber) deep brown, foamy tan bubbles. Nose of oak, celery, burnt sugar, oats, coffee. Taste is very dry, chocolate, coffee, oats, very carbonated, overly so. Frank (4194) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 7, 2014
This is a very nice looking beer. It pours deep black w/ a long lasting head of small and evently sized bubbles. Lace sticks to the side of the glass in big sheets. This is a down-the-middle American stout and that is just fine by me. Its nose is roasty w/ a bit of malt that implies sweetness. It is only a bit sweet when you taste it though with a slight tart tang that combined with the roast brings to mind chocolate covered raisins. This is a medium bodied beer, maybe on the light side of medium, and it finishes with a lingering roastiness on the tongue. This is a damn decent stout. I would probably buy it again if it came in six packs rather than bombers.
