On tap during the Főzdefeszt, Hungary’s first Craft-Beer Festival in Budapest. It was quiet hard to situate this beer to my personal experience. Hard to compare with other beers that I know. Dark beer, small foam. For a 9% ABV it’s a light tasting beer, a surprise to me, soft roast caramel and the bitterness is low. I’m confused and surprised as well. But I’ve enjoyed the beer and I’ll definitely give it an other try if I have the possibility. BTW, I really hope that the Hungarian Craft Beers will find their way in the Budapest Pubs, which is not the case yet.

Bottled. Pours black colour with beige head. Apart from the strong alcoholic presence in aroma and taste it’s very pleasant. Chocolate, roasted malts and fruity notes, soft carbonation and medium body.

Brown/black color. Medium carbonation. Aromas of tobacco and some dried fruit aromas from the malts. No clear hop aroma. Very malty taste of chocolate, prunes, with noticeable, but not overbearing alcohol. Light body for its strength. Easy to drink. I’m a fan of the style and this one is a bit better than average.

33 cl bottle bought in Budapest, some months ago. Very dark color, almost opaque. Light beige head with a thin layer retention. Aroma’s: sweet, fruit, toffee, sugar. Retronasal it’s malty sweet, fruity, sticky toffee. Flavor is rather sweet. Alcohol feel is quite wtrong, but body is on the thin side for the strength. Finish is rather short, a bit dry, but no bitterness. Pleasant enought

Batch no 18.02.16, tasted 7 months past expiry date. Dark brown with a small off-white head, disappearing quickly but leaving a nice lacing. Tha aroma is sweet, caramel, vinous, dry fruits (mainly cherry), alcohol. Nicely oxidized. Taste is sweet, malty, dry fruits, toffee, some roastiness and coffee in the back. Slightly alcoholic with a pleasant warming; it tastes a bit like cherry liquor. Medium to full body, low carbonation. Overall: I’m not very keen on bocks but this one is very enjoyable.

0.33 l bottle from Csak a jo sor. Shared with Igor and Marko. Dark brown, red tint, small head. Strong alcohol, dry fruits, syrup, caramel, brown sugar. Some chocolate, sweet, soft. Alcohol present. Warming and soothing feeling in the finish. This one is very good, for a winter’s day it would be the best.
