Bottle:   Black, large frothy beige head, nice lacing.   Soft roasted malt nose, light spices, a touch of lactose sweetness.   Not as spicy or lactose like on the tongue, spices and sweetness are way muted.   Only a moderate amount of roasted malts.   Smells much more interesting than it tastes.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Light finish, smooth, but not as big as I was expecting.   Mild example, but fairly solid.   As it warms up the spices come out a bit more.   Tiz decent, but lighter than I wanted. bergstaden (3388) - Røros, NORWAY - JUL 16, 2017

Misc.: Bottled on Aug, 26, 2016
Had been looking forward to this one for a while. Missed it last year, but wasn’t going to miss it this year, even if it was later than I’d like to try it (almost three months after bottling). Heading into it, not sure if I’d review it as a pumpkin beer or a milk stout. Love Belching Beaver’s stouts, so hoping it’s more like that. NOTE: Went with pumpkin ale after the first sniff.
Poured a black color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki tan frothy head. Dark serene setting underneath. Average foamy lacing. Average spotty retention. (Sight - 3.25)
Smelled nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin pie, allspice, hints of black coffee, milk chocolate and char wood. All pumpkin notes up front, but can get the sweet milk stout notes late. (Smell - 4.25)
More balanced on the tongue than on the nose. Got pumpkin, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, black coffee, dark chocolate, black licorice, char wood and pumpkin pie. Want to say peppermint, but I think it’s more herbal medicine notes. I’m digging this. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Roasty finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Really liked this. Expected to, but this lived up to what I thought it would be. Great version of a pumpkin beer. (Overall - 4.25)

Pumpkin spice aroma mixed with coffee, roasted malt and cocoa. Very dark brown body with only a little hint of ruby color at the edges. Head is small and dissipates to a medium tan ring quickly. The aromas follow to the flavor with the dark roasted malt standing out nicely from the pumpkin spice which seems a little artificial (or maybe just a bit strong). Some dark chocolate later on with some corn syrup sweetness following. Leaves chocolate and cinnamon and cloves behind in a fairly thin finish. Fairly tasty overall but not one I’d want a lot of.

Bottle: The aroma consists of light-moderate chocolate, pumpkin pie spices, and mild roasted coffee. It pours a dark brown with some orange transparency when held to the light. It has a small beige head that fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with light-moderate chocolate and caramel. The finish has light-moderate roasted coffee and pumpkin spices. It’s medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation.
A nice pumpkin spice and chocolate aroma, pours a dark black color with a light head. A taste of smoked malt, pumpkin spice and chocolate taste. A watery body with a light smoked malt finish. kidobutai (701) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - OCT 29, 2016
