The aroma of this beer reminds me of a cedar chest; intensely aromatic, with overtones of fresh sap. The color is a deep, chocolate brown, verging on black that gives the beer a pleasing opaque quality. Upon pouring, a large but short-lived head develops. The flavor has an underlying sweetness but its predominate notesare of fall spices: nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. Mouth feel is rather thin and watery, which can be a little disconcerting if one is more familiar with substantial imperial dark beers. Overall, a very well-made, enjoyable beer.

Mostly nice roasted stout smells with a light hint of pumpkin. Dark black with thin white ring of head. Big smooth roasted stout with a lovely soft peanut butter pumpkin grows out then fades back in just as gently. Light soft spice on the residual, mellow and pleasant.

just like the peanut butter milk stout, no beer at 5% has a right to have a body this good. No alcohol shows but the body (and flavor) is lush and rich. Extra kudos for doing it with a spiced beer (equally as hard). Good stout, and the right amount of spices. Surprised this ain’t getting more love.

Draught at the taproom in Vista, California. Black beer with a decent beige head. Roasted chocolate aroma, pumpkin, coffee, cream, tar notes, cinnamon, some caramel. Roasted chocolate and pumpkin flavor, cinnamon, clove, licorice, coffee, caramel, licorice notes. Full bodied and very well balanced. Best pumpkin beer I ever have had.

Pours pitch black with a one finger kakhi head with nice lacing. Aroma is of pie spices, bakers coco, roasted malts, cofee, brown sugar, and some light pumkin meat. Taste is pie spices, dark and milk coco, roasted malts, sweet malts, pumpkin meat, brown sugar, and some coffee in the background. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, medium finish. Overall, a tasty and interesting sweet stout that has nice subtle pie spice and pumpkin notes.

With Z and J, pours a dark pitch black pour with a very small head. Nose is sweet with chocolate and malt and autumn spices. Taste is rich chocolate sweet malt with pumpkin and allspice notes. A rather light sweet easily drinkable sweet stout. Finish is sweet with a pumpkin, malt , and all spice ending. Light and drinkable and tasty. quaff score 7 / 10
