Nice foamy head, okay reddish-brown body with some carbonation. Aroma of cheap wood, shreddies cereal, dried cardboard. Okay cloying flavour of sugary malts, molasses, sweet syrup. Wet finish. Not exactly exciting, an oily sweet beer that needs some work.

copper pour, good head lasts for a bit, smooth texture, I get a note of berries , slight hop bitter. Not a bad beer.

Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 24, 2017
Veiled copper color with storming activity. Creamy and frothy light brown 3-4 finger head, lasting around 10-15 minutes, with moderate lacing. Flavors of berries, apples, red licorice, cherries, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, Belgian yeast, sweet grains and herbal spices. Sweet and candy like, but not too syrupy, with a balanced dash of bitter spices. Slick light body with crispy carbonation, almost champagne like. Medium strength finish of lingering fruity esters, fresh yeast, and red ale spices. Nicely intensified, good freshness. Pleasant faint cheese aroma. Very tasty and a satisfying feel, although a bit on the thin side. Overall very good quality craft.

Pours a red/copper color with a small sticly white head. Nose of pale sweet malt, honey, agave, a bit of spices and maybe a bit of toasted malt. Body is medium. Lightly hopped. Medium sweetness. Easily drinkable but nothing special.

14oz on tap at an open-air Ste-Catherine’s street event. Pours a clear reddish amber with minimal head and less retention. Caramel and toasted malts, some berries in the nose, slight berry sweetness flavour-wise, with something slightly anise-like, but light on the palate and not too much body-wise.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2016 330ml bottle, no date. Pour amber with vanishing white foam. Aroma of light roasted malt, notes of Abbey style yeast. Taste is from light roasted malt and notes of honey. Low carbonation and medium finish of syrup and alcohol. 330ml bottle L’Amoszus, no date. Pour amber, no foam. Aroma of commercial sirup. Advertised as an ale but smell like a lager, maybe because of the malt chosen ? Or the temperature of the Mash ? Taste like.... the other commercial beer of the same kind. Low carbonation, bad after taste of malt, very watery. 4-3-4-3-7, Total 2.1

Visuel : Couleur : ambrée-brune. Apparence : claire.
Arôme : Caramel doux, pain grillé, levures fruitées (petits fruits rouges) aux notes épicées, léger de houblon herbeux.
Goût : En entrée de bouche : Léger goût de levures fruitées (petits fruits rouges aux faibles notes acides) et épicées (poivre). Un support de malté de caramel et de grains de malt sucrés légèrement rôtis est également présent avec des notes de pain grillé ainsi qu’une légère amertume de houblon herbeux aux notes florales et épicées.
En bouche : Corps : moyen. Effervescence : moyenne. Texture : légèrement crémeuse. Finale : moyenne, composée d’une légère amertume de houblon herbeux aux notes épicées avec des notes résiduelles sucrées.

Bottle (375 ml). Split 2-ways. Clear copper with a small to medium off-white head, low retention, leaving little to no lacing. Aroma is of toasted malts, caramel, mild berries and mild spiciness. Taste isn’t very sweet but it’s caramel forward along toasted malt, less berries than in the aroma but still some and mild spiciness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is a bit watery. Toasty finish with mild spiciness. Rather boring, but easy drinking and nothing off flavor wise.

Appearance: Dark copper, 1in beige head that lasted about 5 minutes. Goes away with little to no lacing. Smell: Warm runny honey, strawberry, malt, yeast and caramel. Taste: Honey, malt and yeast. Feel: The sweetness of honey is balanced by the bitterness. Sweetness does come out after a couple seconds. Overall: If I were to drink beer with breakfast, this would be it. Or with dessert. The sweetness is a bit heavy on its own (for me).

Rousse et limpide, une grosse mousse fière se forme lorsqu’on la verse. Un nez de malt caramel, comme n’importe quelle bière dite rousse. (je ne comprends pas l’ajout de mot: abbaye?) L’aspect belge, en donnant une chance au coureur, se retrouve peut-être en bouche. On goûte à de la levure poivrée, alors que le malt est prédominant. Il y a une touche sucrée, peut-être par du miel commun. C’est minéral, effervescent et sans particularités précises. C’est plutôt ennuyeux. (1558-260815)
