Starting with naturally-pure esker water, Mons Abbey Blonde is brewed from Pilsen and Pale Ale malt, hopped with Styrian Gold hops, and Saaz hops give it aroma, with a classic yeast from Belgium. Before you open a bottle, chill it to around 43°, and then tilt the glass and pour, allowing a nice head to form. Reserve the final ounce and pour it into a shot glass, yeast and all… and decide if you or your guest gets the flavorful brewer’s yeast. Mons Abbey Blonde is delicious with lighter foods, such as chicken, salmon, salads, and Monterey Jack cheese. For dessert, try it with apricot or orange cake, or any citrus custard tart. Salut!

Modest head, foggy orange body, some carbonation. Leather shoe aroma; leather beer shoe aroma. Leathery aroma like I’m back in those Paris nightclubs in the basement with the swing band, booze sloshing around, lingering poignancy of a time long past. Yeah - 2010. Few remember it. Also some coriander on the nose. Flavour is a muddy floral mess with those spicy notes, malt, some sweet lemon rinds in the mix but all a bit odd. Medium finish. A few cylinders are firing right on this one but the whole engine is stalling. Would do well for a big whiteboard meeting of "what did we do wrong and where can we go from here" kinda thing, cuz it has potential.

Ernest (7913) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 24, 2017
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cereal), moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, basement), with notes of gum, pepper, lemon zest. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation. Better than expected...basic, but clean and pleasant.

Got from a batch of Quebec beers brought to me by friend. Pours a hazy golden color, decent long last head. Aroma of bread with a decent spicy taste, some frutiness and pepper, a smooth good carbonation on the palate with a slight spicy finish. Not too bad.

Radek Kliber (7501) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - FEB 2, 2017

Aroma: rather quiet sweet, plenty of sugars mushed with aroma of Belgian yeast.
Look: lighter density top, shorter life span that was reduced to fuzz in few minutes. No lace. Base was almost clear , fine haze of dark gold, hinted with amber.
Body and palate: medium bodied, heavier mid, thinner walls. Average finish. Average plus carbonation.
Taste: sweet but not as cloying as in aroma. Notes of green bitters, hint of alcohol. Shallower that frisky finish, Hint of fusel fuel.
Post Scriptum: this ale would greatly benefit from longer maturation period.

Arcanor (422) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 28, 2016
330ml bottle no date. Pour golden lightly hazy. Small dense white foam that stick to the glass. Aroma of classic Belgian yeast, notes of white bread. Taste is a bit metallic and make me think of a commercial beer. I don’t feel any complexity in this brew. Medium carbonation, a bit dry. Finish is a bit bitter. I have the L’Amoszus version at the same time. Same bottle size. Same pouring but a thing bit more dark, same foam. Aroma is more on the pale ale side. The yeast taste is a bit more present in this one, the metallic taste is not as intense, it’s a bit more balance. Same palate. The finish is more enjoyable, the drinkability is higher and more refreshing. 6-4-7-4-14 3.5

Je suis à mon épicerie où il n’y a pratiquement rien au niveau "bière", et je tombe sur quelques Mons... Ok, ça fait longtemps que j’en ai pas bue, alors je me laisse tenter. J’ouvre une bouteille de leur Blonde en premier. Hiiissshhhh, pas terrible ce truc. Ça goûte la viande fûmée. Il y a clairement des notes de fumée et j’avoue que ça se marie assez mal avec une telle bière autrement assez claire. L’alcool est bien caché, mais ce sera un des seuls points positifs que je vais trouver. En me forçant, je dirai aussi que le corps est correct. Très certainement ma dernière bouteille à vie de cette bière. Je suis tombé sur une mauvaise bouteille?

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2016 Cloudy golden color with very powerful glass clinging activity. Extra frothy beige 4 finger island head, lasting around 20 minutes, with strong legs. Aromas of fresh flowers, lemon, faint metal, and sweet malts. Flavors of citrus lemon and orange peels, coriander, sweet grains, caramel, faint yeast, floral and herbal spices. Strong sweetness with a faint dash of citrus sharpness. Bready with noble spice grassiness. Smooth full body with champagne like carbonation. Light to medium finish of moderate length, ending with a fruity citrus feel, a little hoppy grassiness, and a faint vinous yeasty feel. Overall excellent quality craft. Delicious balanced flavors with a strong fresh feel. Great body and well intensified. Quite accessible with a hidden alcohol feel. L’amoszus blonde 04/30/2016 : Hazy golden color with storming activity. Extra foamy and frothy beige 4 finger sparkling island head, lasting around 20 minutes, with good legs. Flavors of pears, apples, orange, banana yeast, lemon, honey, sweet grains, coriander, clove, noble hops. Highly sugary and syrupy, with low sharpness. Nice bread and fruity feel, almost like a Tripel. Oily medium body with moderate carbonation. Medium strength finish, lingering yeast and saaz hops, with a bit of ester and tropical fruits. Too much sugars, not enough sharp, this tones down freshness and enjoyability. The flavors are pretty good, but it feels flat and heavy, not enough fluffiness, although well intensifed. Overall good quality craft. 3.7

Pours a bit hazy golden color with a medium white head. Nose of banana, coriander, classic Belgian yeast, Honey, sweet bready buiscuity malts. There’s a nice carbonation there. Medium body. Feels very crisp on the mouthfeel for the style and it’s very nice. Alcool creeps up just a little bit near the end. Excellent balanced beer. I really liked.

Smells very sweet. Pours with so much head, it was unbelievable. Taste is almost to sweet (sugary). Decent amount of carbonation. Never have I seen so much sediment (yeast) in a beer. Overall I was glad to try it, but will not purchase again.

UXO (1896) - CANADA - MAY 21, 2016
Appearance: slightly hazy pale gold with two fingers of rocky off-white head, excellent retention and chunky lacing. (5/5) Aroma: banana, apple and pear, yeast, bubblegum. (7/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, mild bitter, light tart. (7/10) Light body, lively carbonation, off-dry slightly sticky and mildly warming finish. (3/5) Reasonably authentic Belgian-syle ale, with lots of yeast-derived character. The apple note is almost but not quite brown apple, and the flavours linger in a not entirely desirable fashion, but overall it’s a fairly decent example of the style. (14/20)
