Starting with this naturally pure Abitibi Esker water, Mons Abbey Witte is brewed with passion and devotion to time-honored Belgian tradition from a blend of malted and unmalted wheat infused with Styrian Golding hops, Hallertau Hersbrucker, and a hint of coriander and orange peel for a discrete citrusy bouquet.

Soft white head, foggy hay coloured body, strong carbonation. Aroma of skunk cabbage, lemon. Flavour is lemony, almost lambic, with witbier hints. Soft finish. Not particularily exciting, a bit of a messy design for a witbier.

Bière raifraichissante. Bonne blanche d'été au goût d'agrûmes et d'herbes fraiches. À boire avec une tranche d'orange. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bouteille de 330 ml. Arôme d’ herbes, de céréales et d’orange. Goût de fleur, d’herbes, de fruits et légèrement houblonné. Pas mal.

330ml bottle mo date. Pour pale yellow wit a none lasting white head. Aroma of weak Belgian yeast with notes of spice like cloves. Taste is pretty boring, shy yeast and fade cloves. Medium body and medium carbonation for the style. Short finish of fermentation and ethanol. Once that is past, a taste of cheap Lager stay. I tasted the L’Amoszus Blanche at the same time. It looks the same but smell more skunky, the foam last longer and stay on the rim. The taste is heavier on the yeast side, no cloves here, a bit more coriander. Palate is the same, a bit more carbonation and the finish feel less cheap. I’m tending to same that it’s not the same brew. 5-4-7-3-15 for this one.

Pours a golden yellow color with a quickly disapearing white head. Nose of coriander, lemon and orange peel, banana, cloves. It all kind of mixes in well all together. Medium carbonation, medium body. Mouthfeel is a bit dull, kind of flat a bit astrigent. Small hop finish. Not bad but the body the look and the mouthfeel are kind of weak.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2016 Hazy straw color with a powerful amount of activity. Frothy white 1 finger head, lasting around 15 minutes, with a good amount of leggings. Aromas of lemony citrus, fresh flowers, and sweet grains. Flavors of coriander, malty and yeasty, lemony, floral spices. Well balanced sweetness and sharpness. Smooth full body with strong zesty carbonation. Light and short clean finish, ending with a slightly roasted grainy feel and a citrus tongue coat. Overall a good quality craft offering pleasant flavors and good freshness. Well balanced and rounded, but lacking a little sharpness intensity. Slightly metallic. L’Amoszus Blanche 04-03-16 : Clear pale straw color with dense activity. Slightly foamy white 3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with moderate legs. Flavors of clove, metal, banana yeast, sweet grains, lemon, a bit floral. More sugary but very sharp with low bitterness and moderately spicy. Slick full body with champagne like carbonation. Light finish, lingering roasted malts and citrus. Very thick and oily, while extra crispy, but probably a little too syrupy. A little faint, but the flavors are alright, with passable freshness. Overall decent quality craft. 3.1

pours almost clear extra pale yellow with a nice creamy white cap offering some retention and lacing. dusty and spicy citrus, sweetish wheat, chalky herbs, noble styrian, white grapes, soap, minerals. bright carbonation, light body - slightly watery; relatively dry herbal-peppery finish. mineral and classic wit on the sweet side. a pleasant surprise.

(1757-260216)
