BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy amber, big creamy ivory head. Aroma has a nice white loaf crust note and some sweet-and-tart fruity fragrance. The taste has a bit of sweetness, but is mostly dry thanks to the spicy alcohol (that might be too strong at times). A good one, even if too hot.

330 ml. bottle. BBF 06/2016. Light hazy orange, small off-white head. Nose is other grains, orange peel, toffee, sugar, light odd metallic, touch plastic other grains. Taste is odd but somewhat enjoyable caramel plastic, oily toffee, other plastic grains, faint herbal, cheap candy, faint oily Turkish delight, caramel, butterscotch, oily, some butter in a fiting way,… Interesting, not bad, heavy on the oily, candy oily sweet with butterscotch & toffee. Interesting. Grains are buried in the toffee & oily Turkish delight but still noticeable. Kind of digging it.

330ml bottle bought at BeYummi’s kiosk during "Lan Kwai Fong Beer & Music Fest 2015" in Central.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden amber honey colour with a crust of yeast sediments; One and a three-quarter finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with barely notable small carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant and sweet Amber malt, with mashed banana, light vanilla, plums, dark fruits, caramel, alcohol, strong sugar, phenolic, strong Bel yeast, cloves, spices, thin lemon and faint grass.

Taste: Medium sweet full malt, with metallic, strong tartness, light red fruits, caramel, wood, sugar, strong yeast, phenolics, light lemon, moderate to strong bitter hops and light grass.

Body: Full body. Thick and creamy palate.

Mouth Feel: Full maltyness in a rich and smooth body. Very creamy despite strong wheaty tartness. Light caramel gives way to some light red fruits and strong sweetness, which seems to mix well will moderate lemony hops. Spelt’s presence is just wood only and not coarseness like in the Bio Blond. Pretty satisfying!

Hoppiness: Spices, thin lemon and thin grass in nose, and stronger of the three in taste; Bitterness is moderately strong for a lasting, mid-astringent spicy sweet-bitter finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Creamy, malty and quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: Compared to the Bio Blond I had earlier, this one is stronger in ingredients, but much easier to the tongue. Good aroma of typical Belgian dark ale notwithstanding, it is rich, creamy, very tart, and without that edgy spelt coarseness, plus the hoppiness is well-tuned. Way better than Bio Blond, a bit simple but definitely enjoyable. Nice one!

Light amber color with off-white head. Aroma is sweet, with strong yeast notes and some alcohol. Taste is definitely on the sweet side, with strong esters and a balanced finish. Overall it’s a decent belgian ale.

from la Mise en Bière - clear amber-bronze beer with a long lasting creamy foam; nice lacework; aroma of bread and caramel; full-bodied, sweet and with a late earthy bitterness; creamy palate and with a long bready, yeasty finish with hints of dark fruits

Wow... thats a weird smell... very malty and yeasty. Malt smells like it’s cooked to the bottom of the brew kettle... the taste alone doesn’t make it appealing. Taste is well balanced, but the flavours make it all blur together in something that is hard to discribe. The aftertaste is nice tho. COuld be good with some Abbey cheese. Actually, lets have some cheese with it. That works very good. 0,1 extra points for being great with abbey cheese ;)
