Bottle sampled. Pours hazy Amber with a light tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, light yeast, malt and a little dark fruit. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Wow... thats a weird smell... very malty and yeasty. Malt smells like it’s cooked to the bottom of the brew kettle... the taste alone doesn’t make it appealing. Taste is well balanced, but the flavours make it all blur together in something that is hard to discribe. The aftertaste is nice tho. COuld be good with some Abbey cheese. Actually, lets have some cheese with it. That works very good. 0,1 extra points for being great with abbey cheese ;)

Het beste van de belgoo-bieren dat ik geprobeerd heb. Lekkere smaak en heel lekkere afdronk

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2016 Tasted in 2010 when it was first launched and now revisiting from a bottle recently bought at a Delhaize supermarket. Tightly cobweb lacing, off-white, irregular but dense and well-retaining head over a light orange blonde, lightly hazy but not really amber coloured beer with vivid sparkling. Aroma of cooked white cabbage DMS (which was already the case six years ago), toasted bread, raw celery, dry red apple, moldy orange peel, caramel, unripe pear, dough, some freshly cut grass and a hint of garden weeds. Fruity onset but in a very clean, ’restrained’ kind of way, fairly neutral even with low sweetness and a bit of sourishness, well-carbonated and a bit minerally but not overcarbonated, mild caramelly and nutty maltiness, a bit toasted and bittering, with herbal and grassy hops growing in intensity and ending in a fairly bittering, drying, herbal finish with retronasal floral and weedy aromas; a thin trace of nutty malt bittersweetness peeps through but so does a certain ’cooked cabbage’ flavor. I remember - and have looked this up in notes dating back to 2010 - that I found this beer not very agreeable when it first hit the market due to this ’cooked vegetable’ quality and sadly, after six years, I have to establish that nothing really changed. I hate DMS and this one has a lot of it - and not enough other flavors to counter it. I still kind of like the fact that Delhaize offers beers from smaller breweries / beer companies these days, though...

the aroma is malty and spicy with notes of citrus... the taste is rather rough, with shades of grapefruit, oranges and caramel and noticeable hopping... sweet and bitter aftertaste..

Butelka 33cl. Osobiście uważam to piwa za jedno z mniej udanych. Profil piwa jest bardziej podobny do jasnego ejla belgijskiego niż do typowego bursztynowego gdzie powinno być wyczuwalne więcej niuansów karmelowych czy nawet palonego karmelu. Ma mocny aromat owoców pomarańczy, jabłka i wiśni. W smaku lekko kwaskowate i drożdżowe. Posmak przypomina owocowy charakter. Gorycz jest o profilu pestki jabłka. Ogólnie orzeźwiające i całkiem bogate. Dla amatorów estrów w tym stylu piwo powinno smakować dużo bardziej. Ja po prostu miałem ochotę na karmel.

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is burned malt, caramel, vegetable. Not really appealing. (I’m being nice.) Flavour is less bad, with some caramel and other fruits, but the aroma really spoils it.

Clear amber with big white head. Caramel, very fruity (quite like cider, berries, some orange), light bitter roasted touch. Medium sweet with light bitter finish. Nice carbonation. Decent stuff.
