Typically traditional Scottish ales were named according to the wholesale price of a cask. Historically, 80 Shillings were top shelf stuff, so only the best ingredients are used in our classic 80/- with three local malts and two hop varieties creating a rich copper-coloured beer with malty, toffee and soft fruit character. George Howell - Master Brewer, Belhaven.

October 2016. Lidl. Meagre cream head on a coppery brown body. Aroma of watery praline, sesame, bread dough and a sliver of processed Bavarian cheese. That kind of flavour; washy but not unpleasant with suggestions of toasted nuts, milk chocolate raisins, caramel and the gentlest wee wisp of rauch. For what it is, decent.

Off white cream head stayed on a light oak coloured still body. Malty aroma - traditional English Bitter style. Medium bodied with a smooth feel on the palate & a crisp sharp back. Roasted malty flavours with caramel, toffee & long bitter aft. Typical UK Bitter - but as such pretty decent considering the low ABV.

Bursztynowe, klarowne piwo o średniej pianie, która dość szybko redukuje się do zera.Aromat nikły, lekko karmelowy. W smaku słód, karmel, lekkie owoce i zioła. Goryczka średnia w stronę niskiej. Ogólnie przeciętny, poprawny bitter, mega pijalny.

Bottle at home. It’s not the most exciting of beers, but there is some flavour although it is dominated by caramel. It’s over carbonated, but drinkable and overall I have had much better.

Bottle @ home shared with TomHendriksen. Clear amberish color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, nicely bitter, light caramel. Pleasant mouthfeel, easy drinkable. Quite like it.

Fles gedeeld door Benzai, geprobeerd met Benzai en Niels. Het is een amberkleurig bier zonder schuim. Het heeft een kruidige geur en een wat vlakke smaak.
