2014-07-18. Black body, nice brown head fades. 3+ aroma is relatively mild, dusty dark malt, light roast, light mineral notes. Flavour is similar, sweetish dark malt core, dryish dusty malt and minerals in the finish, sweet malt and minerals in the aftertaste. Bottle courtesy of GregClow

Czarne piwo o obfitej ale nietrwałej pianie. Aromat palonych ziaren niezbyt intensywny. W smaku wyczuwalne palone ziarna, trochę gorzkiej czekolady. Całość dosyć łagodna.

Black with beige head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, and liquorice. Taste mild sweet and bitter. Finish mild wood. Body quite thin. Pretty flat.

Kolor czarny, rubinowe refleksy pod swiatlo, klarowne. Piana wysoka, szybko opada, zostawia gruba warstwe, slabo oblepia szklo. Wysycenie niskie.

Can from local Yamaya store. Light chocolate roasty nose, graham crackers, burnt matches. Black, with a smooth creamy off-white head. Very mild dark roast initial, gentle bittering in mid palate, lightly metallic, too. Thin and a bit watery. Flavors are much like the aroma. The nitro thing waters it all down too much.

Black beer with cream head. Taste is dry, coffee, little acid with roasted finish.

440ml can from Carrefour, Xintiandi, Changchun. Pors almost black with a thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste a little grassy and a little sweet but with chocolate too. Overall pretty good, a decent find in China.

Bottle. Aroma of caramel, grain and grass, with marginal chocolate notes. The taste is more stout-like, with the chocolate part coming to the front, although I miss the roast. Also, an obnoxious metallic note appears. Watery, bland, light bitter. Drinkable for sure but why bother?

KyotoLefty (10533) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUN 26, 2014
Can from Yamaya. Nearly black, some orange tints, fine nitro head. Creamy, milky nose, chocolate, root beer, light vanilla. Sweet chocolate and cream flavor, some coffee and tobacco in the background and a light sour tartness. Thin and smooth nitro body that I don’t really dig. Taste is reasonably nice, though.
