Nice stout, though it doesnt outshine the belhavens oat stout. caramel, bread, coffee, toast, basement aromas black, clear, frothy, tan foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, full body, oily feel, abrupt finish, flat,

Bierdimpfe (530) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 6, 2016
Opaque black color with a faint copper hue. Magnificent slow construction, wave effect at the bottom, sexy degrading robe from black to white, with super fine head definition. Very thick and creamy beige 2 finger head, lasting around 20 minutes, with basic legs. Flavors of leather and smoked salmon, faint dark fruits and cherries, coffee, chocolate, molassy, with faint spices ans roasted malts. Good balance, but bland. Slick oily medium body with moderate carbonation. Light finish, lingers with sugary molasses, not very tasty. Feels more like a thin porter. The flavors are too faint, feels overly accessible, and lacks freshness. A Guinness beats the crap out of it. Overall below average stuff.

Alebarasi (45) - Dobrova, SLOVENIA - OCT 1, 2016
Dense black color with 1 finger colored head. Smell of coffee grinds, roast, cocoa powder and smoke, with a metallic-like note in between. Slightly sweet and roasty taste, with notes of black coffee, bittersweet chocolate and malts. Kinda bitter aftertaste. Although kind of watery beer, I wouldnt mind another one.

(Belhaven Black Scottish Stout (Cask)) Tap at Folks pub, full pint. Dark mahogany brown colour on the body, tall and thick, creamy, tan head on top, with very good retention. Aroma of toasted malts, toffee, light caramel. Taste of roasted malts, caramel , chocolate, light metallic notes. Medium thick body, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Not bad at all.

Aroma roasted malt and coffee. Black colou. Low bitterness, and a bit sour. Watery, drinkable, but overall nothing special. Also a bit of iron in aroma and taste

Pint at the pub in Lochaline in June 2016. Pours almost black in colour. Aroma - bags of cocoa and a little espresso. Also some fruity notes. Rather lighter than an average stout, and somewhat watery, but very drinkable for that.
