This is a decent scottish ale. Very sweet initially but the finish is nice. This would be a good session beer due to the small ABV %.

Standard red beer appearance. Little to no head. Aroma was unspectacular and revealed little more than the fact that this was beer. Very light and easy drinking. Went down extremely smoothly and had a strong taste of cold honey.

From bottle, bugger-all aroma but the bottle wasnt very fresh. Nutty malt flavours. I started to enjoy this about half way thru. I need to re-rate this fresh. Ok anyway.

a little weak for a scotish ale, but good nontheless

This is genteel, cardigan-tattersall-and-tweed ale, no kilt-lifter. Finely rounded malt underpinned elegantly with smoke and hops. Very classy, but could be more fun.

A red beer with a good head. It has a slightly fruity aroma. And a good sweet powerful flavor.

Malty aroma - caramel, toasted malt, a little nuttiness. Brilliant amber color. Malt dominates the flavor, tastes a little like Newcastle but with better balance. Would lend itself well to drinking in mass quantity.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2009 Original Rating, September 21, 2002, Bottle:There is an overwhelming nut flavor to it, which personaly I do not find appealing. Other than that, a strong brew. 7/5/5/3/14 Re-rating, May 26, 2008, Bottle: Again, I leave my original rating as a testament on how NOT to do ratings when you start out. Clear dark copper color with a thin head. A nutty and caramel aroma. Tastes of old, stale, earthy hops, and not entirely in a bad way. A little nutty. An almost vegetal hop finish. Not bad. Oddly enough, my original final score still stands.

Draft- You cant beat the look of a nitro-draft beer. Eternal thick head covering a dark brown body. I was somewhat surprised (and let down) by the bland flavor of this beer. Nice and easy to drink but it lacks something.

Something about a nitro pull that just soothes the back of the tongue. Nice malty mouthfeel with a slightly mild hop finish. Nice one.
